Hotels with sea view in Kato Daratso

Unfortunately, hotel guests "reserve" the sunbeds in the morning, so it often happened that although there was no one in the pools and around them, we still couldn't find a free sunbed

The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel

Large resort hotel in Platanias village right next to the beach. The hotel is spread over a huge area, with many room types to choose from in several buildings

There are several smaller and larger pools between the buildings, which are not heated

well, i walked into the room twice, and looked like my other half had made the bed, not the housekeeping team. I complained at reception about this. 5* hotel and the bed and bathroom looks scruffy

The receptionist at the time, couldn't care less. Infact i had to bother him whilst he he was scrolling the internet on his phone. Most of the staff (by pool bar) were fabulous. Restaurant staff, hit and miss

The bottle of wine offered in the room, and the complimentary welcome cocktail drinks.

Fantastic Stay – Clean, Comfortable, and Relaxing I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, helpful, and always attentive

My husband and I stayed at the Minoa Palace for a portion of our honeymoon with the half board package and we greatly enjoyed the experience. Their location was great and transportation to Chania was easily accessible

Was fresh every morning and had a very large variety of hot and cold dishes and sweets. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay in a beautiful property

The half board includes breakfast and dinner in which the food was excellent. We choose this option so that we could venture out during the day and explore other places for lunch

The beachfront rooms were a little walk from the main hotel including a walkway over the main road so ask for a room in the main resort if you'd rather avoid, but wasn't an issue for us

The main point - food was absolutely amazing! There was nothing we didn’t like and we are picky eaters. Loads of choices from meat, fish, veggie, and seasoned perfectly. The local corner was our favourite

We’ve searched for this year holiday for 6 months because one bad review put us off. But decided to spend this year at Caldera and that was the best decision ever

Very nice location, with direct access to the beach. We booked an apartment with sea view, with a large terrace, very clean and comfortable

We got the room at the lowest ground which was a bit dark but travelling with a toddler was very handy as we weren’t woken up at the sunrise 😅 and the bushes around the balcony (we complained about them at first) turned out to be very handy at evenings when we sat there during heavy wind

The hotel has its own parking and has plenty of restaurants nearby, beachfront as well as in the main street. The host is very friendly, he offered a lot of valuable suggestions for spending time around the island

When we landed at the hotel there was an issue with our room so we got moved to the sister hotel over the road for one night which was fine, then they gave us a free massage and late check out also for the inconvenience which wasn't really an issue

Overall one of the best AI's I've been to and I've done a lot! Puddings are the usual affair with the synthetic cream type stuff which I'm not a fan of but is the norm in hotter countries, but there was always fresh fruit and on 3 days there was a chocolate fountain with various bits to dip into it

The Restaurant has a good variety of food and a good standard, but it does have other issues, it’s quite chaotic, often one or more drinks machines were out of order causing a queue, often running out of clean cups or glasses , when it’s raining the outside area is obviously closed , but the inside area of the restaurant can’t cope with the amount of guests, so this results in waiting for tables to...

Evening entertainment was okay but quite short , however the main entertainment area is not suitable in bad weather , so it takes place in the lobby area , but this area doesn’t have enough seating for this , so not ideal

The best place and the best people. Very nice! Eddy ans Michalis are the best barmans! We are very happy to be here. I recommed very much!

We booked with TUI and mentioned the sun loungers to reps who were nearly always there , they just advised us to send our findings to a customer service email address in the uk which we did , we got a no reply email advising our comments will be reviewed by senior management at TUI to help and improve the products and services TUI can offer in the future I got the impression they are fed up with...

Food was good , and a very good choice. Nice pool area , only a handful of people reserving sun beds by the pool , no issue getting a sun bed up to 11. The beach sun loungers are absolutely filthy, torn and tatty

Stayed here for the last week of the season and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Staff are lovely, food was great choice and resort was well kept. Def recommend this place :)

Amazing hotel for families. The new rooms look great. Stayed in a 3-room apt. Very spacious and huge balcony. We’re definitely coming back. Playground is pretty cool and was a favourite amongst our kids.

The food was delicious, our room was very clean, a very spacious bathroom, comfortable and quiet. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Would recommend Sirios Village to anyone!

Dishes at the restaurant are diverse, with cuisines from all over the world, and they are all delicious. The hotel is not too crowded, which I liked very much

My parents came from Azerbaijan for one week vacation here and absolutely loved it: nice and clean hotel, access to the beautiful beach, a beach bag with toiletries

Our stay here was for our “Mini-moon” a short stay away after we got married, which we were accommodated for, had some lovely welcoming gifts and some chocolates, flowers and love heart roses on the bed

There was an outdoor gym area also located by Topos which I didn’t get to use but the equipment looked decent. It was sporadic once you stepped outside your room even on the private terrace

This is our third visit to a Domes resort. All visits have been in luxurious facilities, in private areas. Which is what we wanted in our visits

This was the second time we've stayed at the Thalassa and we were so pleased we did. Fantastic hotel , lovely staff , great room and a good size balcony with a pull out clothes drier

The sunbeds on the grassy area by the pool were very much in demand every day, but we preferred the beach anyway (coarse sand and rocky when you go into the sea so take beach shoes!) Everywhere was very clean and tidy, a well-looked after hotel

Back for a 2nd year and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in one of the sea view rooms again (#500 row) which gives you a view of the pool, sea and bar, and even though the hotel is quite compact it isn’t noisy

We have just returned from another wonderful week at this hotel (4th year running) We had a double sea view room which was clean, comfortable and of ample size

All the staff are very welcoming and attentive; a special mention goes to Klapsas the cat for keeping us entertained at breakfast! Bar area and Ouzaki beach restaurant are lovely to have lunch in, the bar has a nice vibe in the evening

But the beach wasn’t the best all days because some days we couldn’t even swim in the sea because it was to much waves but I get it why we weren’t allowed to swim. It was a little bit sad but it’s okay

Our stay was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. The private swimming pool was amazing and the whole place felt peaceful. Both the room and shared spaces were very clean

The best part of the hotel was it's view. We took a sea view room and it was perfect. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast at the restaurant waves had good variety even for vegetarians

The doors are also having this window on them so all the brightness comes inside. You will get 1 only one key card to the room. Maybe with extra cost another. Hotel is best for family with kids

I recommend ear plugs also, your gonna hear everything into the room , when people going on the stairs on their flip-flops and cleaners starting early in the morning

Excellent food in the restaurant, a lot of dietary dishes for children, a variety of the diet were changed every day. Two nice pools with sea views. All the amenities in a walking distance. Will definitely go here again!

Perfect place for a family holiday, the hotel on the first line, 20 meters from the beautiful sea, the magnificent sandy beach

We had a nice spacey room with sea view. We stayed there for one night, which was quite expensive, but for a family with kids this is definitely a place to visit. Very good bathroom and shower and good quality beds.

Hotel apt was clean and comfortable and staff is alwas nice and ready to help. Be aware the beach is not for children , it is really deep right after you step in the water

The beach is the gravel type!!! We had to travel 8 km towards Chania everyday where is sandy beach and calm water!!!

Sunrise review I stayed at Sunrise Village for a week at the beginning of July with my family, including a 15 year old and 18 year old

You can swim at your own risk after 8:00 (20:00), unlike the 5-stary hotel down the road (Porto Platanias). The pool is very nice, with water that's not too cold or warm, and actually larger than Porto Platanias

6 Two TVs -- one large TV with Netflix, YouTube, etc. The only con I list is that the parking is a small dirt road, which gets your car very dusty and dirty

I read reviews and viewed photos, and I must admit that the hotel looks much better than in the photos, and we had a wonderful stay! We stayed eight nights and everything was great! The service, the delicious breakfast, the small but adequate gym, and above all, the location right on the beach, close to many attractions, yet in a very quiet area

Went her with my family in July 2025 and the hotel did not disappoint. They did try to put us in a family room even though we had booked to separate hotel rooms but that was sorted out after the first night

We've had our holiday at Althea Village in mid-september. It was the first time coming to this hotel and we will definitely come back in the future. The complex is big and spacious, perfect for a family holiday

We really appreciated all the activities during the day and during the evening, the flowers and the trees were really beautiful and well maintained, all the resort was very clean

Regarding the food, there were a lot of options, including also traditional Greek food. We recommend Althea Village if you want a nice, quiet and fun holiday!

Guests visit year on year and it is easy to see why-the hotel is 3 star+ but the staff are 5 star + Thank you once again for a great holiday and for making our Silver Wedding anniversary one that we will never forget

We had a great holiday at Althea Village this summer. It was our first holiday with our daughter which was 7 months old and the hotel felt perfect for us

The staff was really nice, everyday they were waiting for us with lunch prepared special for our daughter (at that moment she was eating only boiled vegetables), the room had a crib only for her, the "village" was quiet so we enjoyed our stay

First of all our room was upgraded. It’s connected to the beach so you can choose the pool or the sea

We just spend 2 weeks at the hotel the staff was absolutely amazing and so friendly Stella, Katarina at the bar and at the restaurant was so kind all the other waiter was amazing the cleaning staff EVERYBODY WAS so kind, the hotel is close to the beach and there is so many shops I will definitely recommend this place and see u all soon again

Nice and clean. Decent morning buffet. All inclusive not worth it. Close to a myriad of decently priced restaurants with everything from burgers to local Greek cousine. Friendly staff and right at the beach.

Pleasant "on the beach" location, and a fine Hotel. No disturbing traffic or nightlife. Close to the shops at the city center.

The breakfast area is lovely next to the pool or the roof terrace which over looks the beach, it’s a nice way to start off the day. It’s just off the Main Street but is so quiet. The staff can’t do enough for you

Friendly and service minded staff. Wi-Fi was a bit slow but fine compared to other places on Crete. Ok Continental breakfast with little specialities. Dinner buffet was fine but not amazing

You will eat better at the local restaurant or in Chania. It’s possible to walk to Chania aprox. Agia apostoli is a fine base for exploring Chania and north/west Crete
