Ikaros Beach, Luxury Resort & Spa - Adults Only

Ok so there is some good and bad points to raise. First point is this is not an all inclusive hotel as it is advertised. I found this out to my dismay when on our first visit to the bar a young lady asked if we wanted a drink, which of course I said yes, unfortunately when the JD and coke arrived I had taken a few sips when then I was presented with a €8 bill, I said why I am all inclusive? She said that’s not on the package! I raised this later with the manager however he refused to waiver the bill. On check out I was confronted by the hotel manager to pay an €8.00 bill which we had previously discussed what an absolute joke considering I was duped into taking. Other drinks like, cider, Baileys Irish coffee are also not included the list goes on! Not what you call luxury five star treatment as advertised! You also don’t wear wrist bands instead they ask for your name and room number and sometimes present you with a print out to sign mainly for tips I think! Really old fashioned process. We also changed rooms 3 times in a week, the first room the steps down into the room were very dangerous we were then moved to a disabled room which was ok, and on the final day as we had a late pick up we payed €50 to have a late check out but they needed the disabled room so we were given another room which was very nice. The rooms vary drastically so consider this when booking this hotel as they aren’t all like the pictures in TUI website. The grounds and pools are very clean and tidy, evening entertainment is ok but a bit old fashioned and boring, all the bars close at 12am so if you like a late night drink forget it. Best restaurants are Italian or Chinese food is good and staff attentive. Main restaurant has a good selection apart from one night is was fish night! So if you didant like fish the options were very poor. The spa staff are like sales people and although very polite and friendly they just want your money me and my wife had a joint treatment she had a facial and I had a massage costing £183.00 it was nice but after we were then offered cheaper deals but need to book straight away ! Then sold various products which cost £147.00 so just be careful it’s definitely a money machine. I’ve been to many five star hotels and I’m sorry to say this place is not to the highest quality and is more like a 4 star hotel it’s not worth the money we paid and there are to many issues and old fashion procedures etc. This is not run professionally and is not a five star hotel that looks after its guests ! Don’t bother emailing the main manager he doesn’t respond professionally in my opinion.
