Reviews
However, the location was good. There is good access to both the metro and trams and buses.
We found that we had to ask for the room's amenities to be topped up almost every day (i.e. toilet paper). We also ran out of shower gel. The hotel was quick to replenish though.
The room was nice, slightly on the smaller side but the bed was very very comfortable. Ours was a firm memory foam, which was really really great. We had a slight issue with power points in the room. In order to use our travel adapter to charge our phones we needed to unplug the bedside lamps, which is a shame. Also, it is not possible to use the kettle without first crawling under the desk and unplugging the fridge, to make it possible to plug the kettle in.
We got the breakfast option and were pleasantly surprised. We had expected to be offered only continental breakfast buffet, but actually there were also some limited egg options available and some really nice fried vegetables. However, strict vegetarians may have an issue with cross contamination of utensils with meat options.
For the price we paid, we feel that 3* is a fair rating. It was better value than other options we explored in Rome and the style of the rooms was nice for us.
- The conditioner was controlled from the reception. So every time you need to switch it on/off or change the temperature, you need to call to reception. Haven’t seen this kind of madness anywhere else.
- Two evenings there was no hot water in the bathroom. When we called reception about this issue, we were advised ‘to stay patient, as the hotel is fully booked’ and were also accused in being angry. The administrator wasn’t even trying to be helpful or at least friendly.
- The room was dirty. There were hair and nails on the floor.
- The shower cabin is really old and very small.
- There was no nozzle for the hair dryer, so it was very uncomfortable to use it.
- Free water was given only on the first day, then you have to pay for it. I’ve never seen anything like this in 4 star hotel.
- The duvet cover was very strange and inconvenient, actually it looked like the blanket is simply put between two sheets.
I’ve no idea how this hotel may have 4 stars and cost €200 per night. It’s the worst value for money I’ve ever had.
- He threw my credit card back at me.
- He became angry when I pointed out discrepancies between the reservation details from the travel agent and the hotel.
- He repeatedly pointed his finger at me in a threatening manner.
- His English proficiency was quiet low, making communication difficult.
I checked in around 3pm on the 27th.
