The Talent Hotel

I gladly would have reviewed the place - if it would actually be open. I initially booked the hotel for 08/24-08/27 via Expedia. Due to a flight change, I had to change the modification to 08/25-08/28. Contacting Expedia did not result in anything. Expedia suggested to contact the hotel. For the last three weeks, I attempted to contact the hotel: via phone, thru the website, and via email. At that point it dawned on me that they may not be open. Reaching out to Expedia resulted in more lengthy holds. They could not help nor could they reach the hotel. A friend suggested to contact a nearby business which I did. Next morning, I receive a message from that business that the Talent Hotel is "closed until October". The hotel neither bothered to tell their guests nor Expedia. Either blatant incompetence or a reckless ripoff. Serves as a lesson that during Covid times, you need to double and triple check everything. If not for my flight change, I would have arrived in Rome in front of closed doors. Frankly, a place like this should not be in business.

Customer service appears to be absent. In light of recent travel restrictions put into place by the US government I requested to move my reservation to a later date and they simply declined. An absolute horrid way to do business.

If I were you, I would avoid booking here at all costs. Their unwillingness to accommodate and work with guests in light of recent events is surely a precursor to the care you would receive upon your arrival.

EDIT: Even after the Italian government imposed a full travel lock-down, preventing anyone from traveling in or out or around the country unless they have a medical reason/emergency or to go to work, the hotel STILL will not refund me; I have given up trying to reschedule.

Clearly the hotel does not care about anything other than money. If I could give it 0 stars I would. DO NOT STAY HERE. BOOK ELSEWHERE.
