Colonna Palace Hotel

A very well kept and comfortable little hotel in the heart of Rome. We had a very enjoyable stay here, with comfortable rooms, a very attentive staff and a great rooftop terrace to enjoy the sites of Rome from in the afternoon.

The hotel is well located, allowing us to walk to all the sites of Rome. Some walks were long however but this didn’t worry us.

The rooms are comfortable but couldn’t use some renovating. The shower head adjustment sometimes slipped while in use and the bathroom door was very difficult to close without making a heap of noise as it dragged in the tiles. With some minor repairs the rooms would have been 5 star.

From arrival to departure, our stay was excellent. The room was amazing with outstanding views and the staff were so helpful. We especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace. Within close walking distance of all major sites and security was good given the hotel is close to the Parliament building.

Service was amazing! Front desk staff was very attentive. What made the stay even better, was Georgia at the bar. She was such a treat, truly cares about all of the guest and treated everyone like a close friend. We stayed here for a few nights and every time she saw us she made sure to check in on us. She even remembered us when we came back a week later towards the end of our trip. She makes amazing drinks and provides amazing service, even if you aren’t a guest, I recommend coming in for a drink with Georgia!!

Regarding the guest rooms, they were fine. Definitely a little dated, but not bad. The hotel is in a perfect location and a perfect base camp for a Rome vacation. Will return in the future.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful and the breakfast was good. Great location, quiet area and quick walking distance to just about all the sites! Our only complaints were about the room - although it was very big and had nice closet space. The bed was very hard, not comfortable at all (I did not sleep well any of the 3 nights we stayed). Also the shower was very difficult to use - If you want to take a bath it would be great, but did not work well for showering.

Great few days at the Colonna Palace Hotel. Friendly and professional staff. Lovely room. Fantastic rooftop balcony with great views. Great central location, close to many attractions. Great overall experience. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are gradually falling into disrepair. Updates and repairs need to be made to remain a 4 star in my opinion. This is our second stay at Colonna Palace with 7 years between stays. Much better condition 7 years ago. The bathrooms need updating and repair. Shower leaked on floor and toilet flush mechanism was broken. Furniture is in need of repair or replacement. Carpet is old. Even cheap 2 and 3 star hotels have coffee makers in the room, but not here. Breakfast buffet is great, but in a tourism city you'd expect the opening time to be earlier than 7:30AM. If you have plans, tours, trains starting early, the 7:30 breakfast time doesn't work for you. Location is key. This hotel is in the center of everything and you can walk literally to all attractions. Due to it's location on the Rome Government property, there is a 24 hour police presence here. 7 years ago, you had to show your hotel room key to gain access to the hotel after business hours. That's not required anymore, but the police are outside the front door at all times. You will not feel more secure in another location in Rome. I'd stay again on my next trip, but these are things that could make it better.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was immaculate. The hotel in a fantastic position to walk everywhere. Staff were friendly, especially the dinner recommendations! Highly recommend.

I recently spent 2 nights here at Colonna Palace in Rome which was well located. I did request an upgrade to my room which was granted for a fee with little fuss. The reception staff, porters and barman were friendly and helpful. The only area for future improvement would be the breakfast offerings which were very disappointing .
