Rija VEF Hotel with FREE Parking

We stayed at Rija VEF Hotel from September 18, 2025 (around 5 PM) until September 20 (4 AM). The hotel was okay. Our room was clean, and the breakfast was fine, though we expected a bit more variety (they made sure to refill the food). Our stay felt too short and rushed since our tour provider from the UAE booked us here, and we had to leave early for our next flight. Getting to the hotel also takes some time — about 20 minutes from the Central Bus Station by taxi due to a long U-turn, and roughly the same by tram from the Old Town (around 9 stops). The only issue was the noise — neighbors coughing and people walking in the hallways. If you’re a light sleeper, be prepared to wake up in the middle of your dreams. Overall, it was a decent stay, but we didn’t really get to enjoy it fully because of our limited time. :(

Generally speaking the location of this hotel is OK. Free parking is a big plus but it will heavily now depend which side of the hotel you get your room. If it is street side then even with closed windows the noise of loud. If its towards the parking side, its quiet as a grave.

Room: Room itself (Confort Double or Twin room) was pretty decent for the price. Air conditioning did not work properly in the room so i had to have a window open (which was towards the street side) so at night time it was a rough sleep. Bathroom was decent aswell tho the bathroom tiles were not that clean.

Overall: You get what you paid for but the rooms definetly need some renovation

Breakfast: Very small selection but you get what you paid for. So for this hotel it was good. Queues were very long (does not matter what time you went there) so there was hardly any sitting area available.

Dinner: Restoraunt is open only on specific dates which i found out at the hotel, so can't comment much about that food. I did not find any info on their website about the restoraunt

Parking: There were parking spots available when i arrived but during other days parking was relatively full and some parked even on spots that were ment for bus. No complains there at all.

Decorated an event in the hotel's restaurant, the staff was super nice and the coffee was tasty as well. Location is great, too.

The staff were extraordinarily nice and helpful ! But Roza (the dark hair lady with glasses ) went above and beyond.. thank u guys for making my business trip enjoyable and I got glimpse of the welcoming culture of Latvia 🇱🇻❤️

Good room, convenient parking, rich breakfast, good service attitude!

Cheap and cheerful kind of place. For the price you pay, most things are better than expected.
On the downside, the rooms are quite dated, bit of funky smell (carpets?) and noise insulation is poor - can easily hear conversations from other rooms.

On the positives:
- breakfast is good
- decent size room, with amenities you would find in 4****/business hotels
- smiling, helpful, cheerful reception staff
- very convenient location, lots of public transport available to go to the center/sea in 15-20 minutes
- large size bed with decent mattress
