I recently stayed at the Rixwell Gertrude Hotel, which is apparently a 4-star property—well, maybe it was in 1950. The staff, I must say, were very good and probably the best part of the stay. But the room? It felt like a time capsule from decades ago. The bed's upholstery was so old it could have been an antique, and the curtains looked like they’d seen more sunsets than I have. The air conditioning was about as noisy as a tractor, so that was fun trying to sleep through. And the Wi-Fi? Let’s just say it was more of a suggestion than a service. But hey, the breakfast was decent, and the hotel is in a lovely location, so at least I had something to look forward to in the morning. If you’re into vintage charm, this place might be for you, but I’d recommend bringing earplugs and your own hotspot.
Just in case you didn’t get it - There is no problem at all with the room, I had a comfortable stay but there’s some things you can’t ignore! They also had a mini bar In The room!

The hotel was worn out. Bathroom’s were untidy, there was mold on our bathroom ceiling and the curtains had stains.

This hotel was clean but very tired, however at least they offered me a room when my original hotel had overbooked. Staff were very helpful but the hotel itself is quite shabby and dated.

Average hotel, good for the price. Location is a bit far from center but walkable. Beds not comfortable, vad smell from bathroom. I likes breakfast, have small private parking (7 eur/day).

You pay a lot of money just for the room having empty alcohol bottles in the closet. The internet here is bad, randomly disconnecting, very unstable, sometimes says "no internet, connected". Although the place is very nice, the bathroom is nice aswell. I would probably come again, just would be good if the issues were resolved. 😁

Noisy AC, despite being turned OFF. Other than that, room and staff was good. Location is alright.
Breakfast buffet was nice but I have to agree with other reviews regarding the "Omelette", which is kinda weird. Overall, I'd say it's worth the money

Don't be fooled by the rating and claimed 4*
In reality the hotel should have max 3stars and only if you would close one eye. Rooms are dirty (spacious though) staff -reception - very unfriendly and not helpful at all.
Breakfast is OK but most of the time staff is slow in refilling the boufet. You can rather see then making breakfast for themselves instead of taking care for guests.
Will not come back here for sure.

Price and quality don't match at all. Seems like they gave themselves these four stars. First we got a room with broken air conditioner and slept there when outside was like 30 degree warm. Then we got other room but Air conditioner worked so loud that we couldn't sleep at all when it was on. And the breakfast was one of the worst breakfasts that we had in our lives. Breakfast didn't even have cappuccino or latte only black coffee from machine and espresso. There was a very small selection of food and variety of food to eat. This is not at all a four stars hotel. This hotel barely even reaches three stars. Don't recommend at all!!!!
