Reviews
Thanks Hotel Royal, your great staff are what really made our stay enjoyable, they were all so helpful and cheerful, not the usual uninterested and bored type you usually deal with in hotels everywhere. The breakfast was phenomenal !!
Unable to use room service as the phone was broken. Not repaired till the end of our stay.
Lift dirty.Greasy fingers on the mirror welcomed us and stayed for our 3 days stay.
Room very disappointing, small, no place for suitcases. After installing the suitcase rail there was no room to walk around. One broken single wardrobe with dusty blanket and a shoe brush on it and three odd hangers. Curtains with cigarettes burnts so there is a doubt if the smoke detectors work! Only few channels working on TV, mainly German or Austrian, the aerial socket with wires hanging out.
Two bags of flavored tea, two portions of sugar, two odd cups and one teaspoon. One chair and one bedside table. We used this chair for the second bedside table but there was no room to open wardrobe.
Pigeon's poo all over the windows. When we asked to remove it, a very unhappy cleaner told us that "she had too much work and more important things to do,than cleaning windows". She then huffing and puffing wiped the poo and washed the cloth in our sink! She said "It doesn't matter, the water will rinse it when we use the sink" but, upon our request, she washed the sink. The plug in the sink was missing.
No hot water I'm the shower on the first day of our stay.
One iron for the whole hotel in a locked ironing room.
During the nights there was no light on the staircase, so when walking to your room from the lift there was complete darkness until you reached the next light sensor.
We paid for parking space upfront for three days. On third day, when we were leaving for a trip, we were asked by parking attendant when we are giung to be back. We said we don't know. When we came back, our space was sold for hourly rate to another person. The hotel has only 20 parking spaces and charges daily rate for hotel guests as well an hourly rate for others, so the place you paid for is being sold to others when you are not there.
A couple of times we wanted to talk to the manager but she was not available. The receptionist informed us that she is at home at she is not coming. She hadn't appeared for the duration of our stay. They told us to email her.
We are at the stage that we are done talking to the hotel. We are requesting our money back for our ruined holiday.
On a plus side: Very nice and professional barmaid Anna, who served us on our last day. Thank you Anna.
The hotel is comfortable and clean, buffet breakfast is perfectly adequate but I didn't use their restaurant as it is too easy to walk a few minutes for more choice.
I arrived by motorcycle after the time it stated that rooms would be ready but still had to wait almost two hours until the room was cleaned.
The receptionist gave me free parking as compensation which was a bonus as parking here can be difficult !
Don't turn up and expect parking, arrange in advance as spaces are limited and street parking will get you either fined or clamped !
The parking concierge is a really nice bloke so don't be rude to him, he's just doing his job.
