Cityloft 161

Very bad service. I ordered food for delivery and they left it downstairs on an old motorcycle without warning, and when I asked they didn't know what the package was. Breakfast was 30 minutes late, they asked me to come back later. They didn't even have juice to offer, just coffee and water. Bed linens smelled strongly of cigarettes. Very old and uncomfortable bed. Staff more concerned about smoking outside than serving guests. There are better hotels in Turkey.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. I cannot stress enough to stay away from this hotel specially solo female travellers, I felt creepy the days I stayed there and had to leave few days earlier that I booked because one evening when I went out to grap something I came back and I reaized someone had been in my room and did something to my clothes. When I went to the reception they were very unhelpful and made me wait even though I had major concerns. They have not addressed my concerns or supported me in anyway. I decided to leave immediately before worse things happened in the night. The doors have weird locks and it feels anyone can open from outside. At some point I felt that they really ruined my holiday in Istanbul with that incident. I asked them to refund me for the nights I left and they refused. Their customer service is very bad, they make you wait and stand aside as they serve new customers that come after you and I felt disregarded and increasing racist conduct. Room cleaning was terrible the bathroom looked they only splash water and not clean with cleaning products, the bedsheets and couch smell bad. I would really advise against this hotel for safety before anything else specially if you're a solo female traveller.

I cannot advise strongly enough against staying at Cityloft 161.

When we arrived at the hotel, we found the room did not have air conditioning. When I complained about this, they said that air conditioning was not operational anywhere in the hotel. This was absent from their website, where air conditioning was advertised.

Given the weather in Istanbul, it was not tenable to continue our stay. We checked out less than an hour after checking in and found another hotel. They refused to refund me, so I needed to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Cityloft has been incredibly abstinent and the dispute process has dragged out for months and wasted a great deal of my time and energy.

On a side-note, the rooms were much smaller and not as well-appointed as the website would suggest.

Do not stay here.

I would say that the hotel isn’t bad. It is decent however the customer service was poor. None of the staff tried to speak English communicate or tried to communicate. Whereas other ppl in their country were chatting a lot. No explanation. A person took me to the room that’s all. Then noticed my Wi-Fi did not work. So, I had to go back down so he fixed it on my phone however I came back up and tried to connect on my laptop which did not work so I had to use Wi-Fi on my phone the whole time. Customer service is pooring towards international tourist I would say. Not clear on what to do whatsoever. And also, I wanted to pay he had to register something, while he was doing it, he let other passengers from the same country get the hotel card, then decided to complete mine at the end but I came in first? Also while waiting to fix my Wi-Fi I had to wait 30 min as it was just one person working. Kind of ridiculous.

1) unhelpful reception: bad attitude to customer + no respond to small things I asked to supply
2) very little essentials such as: soaps,tissues, water…etc
3) room service are bad: they didn’t clean the room or remove dust pin, just arranged the room
4) slow & stinky elevators: they use them to move the trashes 🤢!!!
5) best receptionist: a guy named (UMUT)🌹
6) it’s not 5 stars, it’s 3 stars maximum
