Definitely wouldn’t stay here again. It’s located on a really dark dirty alley that is inaccessible by car, thank god for my Uber driver he came all the way on foot 5 minutes to come & pick up my 30kg bag, the staff did not bother to help at all, didn’t even ask. Not even to carry it down the step outside the hotel (I’m a woman on my own with 3 bags).
The room was ok, bed was super comfortable, but it’s impossible to sleep at night from the noise outside, and I’m a good sleeper. There are glass bins collected throughout the night, (you can imagine how loud that is) dogs barking, the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything!
Breakfast was good & nice view. Overall not great

We stayed at the Meroddi Hotel for our recent trip to Istanbul and it was great. The location is a stone's throw away from the Galata Tower and close to Sishane metro. It is also a reasonable walk from Galata Bridge if you want to see the local area.
The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us and any issues (we only had 1) we handled quickly and we were kept informed.
The room was clean, spacious (we had 3 suitcases) and they kept the waters topped up, which was great because Istanbul was hitting over 30°.
I would recommend staying here and including breakfast in your booking (it's worth it), so you can go to the 5th flood and get an amazing view while you drink your morning coffee or çay.

There were two highlights of our stay in Meroddi LaPorta…Lidya AND THE BREAKFAST. Lidya is truly the best and it felt like having a friend in Istanbul from the start. She gave us recommendations of were to go were to eat and things to do! We bonded over our love for cats! We mostly interacted with her and we would recommend all our friends to stay here and interact with her! GIVE HER A PROMOTION!!!!
The breakfast…where to start!!!! Everything was so yummy and fresh!! I’m not a picky eater and nor is my girlfriend and we had so much fun trying and eating new things. My girlfriend is vegetarian (booooo!!) and they had a lot of things she could eat. We had a gorgeous view of Istanbul and was truly one of the highlights of our trip. My only tip is to try and get there early or later since it does get busy. Everything was fresh and flavorful!
When we eventually do come back to Istanbul we will 100% be staying here again!

If I could give a lower rating then 1 or would.. They cancelled out rooms whist we were on the flight over, no explanation just made up lies to sell my our rooms for more. Offered to put us up in sister hotel it's just all part of the scam. AVOID AT ALL COST you have been Warned. 7 cancellation reviews on here over the last year or so. So this seems to be a trend at this hotel.

We highly recommend. We messaged the hotel through the WhatsApp link on their website to arrange pickup at the airport. They made it very simple.
The location of the hotel was ideal. We were just a block from Galata Tower and and the restaurants around it. In a few minutes we could walk up to Taksim Square or down the hill to the water front. It is on a very quiet side street. Breakfast at the rooftop patio was delicious and a great view. We booked the top floor with a balcony. It was worth the extra $.
When we left, the front desk booked a taxi for us when we moved to the Asia side of town. Ali and the others at the front desk were very helpful.
Highly recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.

Finally my expectations were met by reality and this experience lived up to its expectations.
Relatively affordable, certainly not time consuming to get around on foot or cab everythong is such a great distance from each orher.
A fantastic location for anybody visiting for the first time even better for the second time.
Yes it is a pricey part of istanbul very similar to back home as every tourist hot spot is
but the hotel is very affordable for what it is.
The breakfast here was lovely, fresh and staff are very hospitable, yes it is a small hotel but it appeals by a European texture.
The staff are lovely and very helpful (speak english) and are not so nosey either...
I travelled alone and it was great size stayed in a double bed with a terrace and it was perfect with way more room than a hotel chain.
Yes the walls are thin but I don't think it will matter .
It does get hot as the breeze doesn't get in but the air con is great position.

Rooms are not bad but not the best, it's an old hotel, but the roof top breakfast area has a really awesome view of the city, the location is also great as it's just a stone throw away from galata tower and istiklal street, a cafe nearby called viyana kavesi has really delicious cheesecake

The hotel is small but really nice and everyone is trying to give you the best experience

Front desk Mr Murad was really friendly and helpful

Meroddi have a few locations around.. So do check which is your actual site..

The hotel is located next to a main street of restaurants and cafés right next to the Galata Tower. It's really convenient but was also quiet at night as it is one street away. Galata itself is good as it has a lot of restaurants and shops while not having such high prices as in Sultanahmet.
The breakfast was good and it was convenient having it at the hotel. My only complaint would be that the bathroom smelt quite badly for some reason, even after it was cleaned the smell returned.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel!
