InterContinental Resort and Spa, an IHG Hotel

Definitely not the 5 star experience I was expecting. The staff are brilliant and not intrusive but are still there when required. Service only gets a 3 as I am on a “ all inclusive stay” however, there are lots of stipulations and requirements in order to get that. For example, you can get drinks from the pool bar which is included but if you want food you are required to go to one of 3 restaurants thus meaning shower, go in, then back out if you want to be outside. You can’t even get an ice cream at the pool bar in the all inclusive package. Very annoying. Rooms only get a 4 as not all of our electricity points work. Best they could do is an extension lead. No hot water between 1230-430 tomorrow for urgent repairs which means cold showers for us as we have plans to go out before 430.
Tegan one of the managers is brilliant and very approachable thus is a credit to the establishment. Hotel has a long way to go to be a 5 star. We are here till the 12th September and will see if anything improves and will had final review when holiday is over.

The rooms were spacious, providing ample relaxation space. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the premises were generally clean. However, I did notice some dust in the corridors and on the balcony. The real disappointment, though, was the food. Even the Indian cuisine-known for its rich flavors-didn’t meet our expectations. Perhaps the hotel caters more to Western tastes, but as an Asian guest, I found the lack of taste quite disappointing. Otherthan that, it has everything to offer.
