Great hotel in the centre of Sunny beach resort, just a few metres from the beach. It offers cosy rooms and a large outdoor pool. A good choice for a budget holiday by the sea.

Consists of one 8-storey building.
The hotel has 128 rooms.
Beach: public sandy beach in 50 m from hotel (1st coastal line). On the beach umbrellas, sun beds: free. The beach is 8 km away.

Completely fine for a cheap place to stay!
I was a bit scared after reading some reviews, but I enjoyed my time at Hotel Colosseum. The location is really good. Right next to the beach, and a 10 minute walk to the 'strip' of bars on Flower Street.
Booked this as All Inclusive through On The Beach, and I think it was good enough value. There wasn't a huge choice or variety of food, but I always found something to eat - even if it was just chips, chicken, bread and fruit! They serve ice cream cones and cakes etc from 4pm too, so that's a nice touch. All inclusive pool bar is open from 10am-10pm, and from 7pm there was a singer for a few hours. One night, there was a dance show.
Staff were always friendly and helpful on reception, the pool bar, restaurant, and the cleaning staff.
I travelled on my own, and there weren't too many people around my age to chat to, unfortunately. Plenty of nice Ukrainian families staying, and other prople from the likes of Slovakia and Moldova etc.
There were probably only around 60-70 sun loungers around the pool, so it might be difficult to get one if the hotel is busy. The same goes for a seat in the restaurant. Get there early!
Restaurant opening times when I was there:
Breakfast 7:30-10am
Lunch: 12:30-2pm
Snacks: 4-5pm
Dinner: 6:30-8pm

Terrible food, rude and careless reception manager dirty rooms, very bad selection of drinks very cheap everywhere. No hygiene

This hotel doesnt look like 4 stars at all. It has old furniture, old TV. It is close to the beach but they do not have any sunbeds for their guests. The personnel is nice, the food and bar OK. Some improvment is needed for sure.

Good hotel, very close to the sea. Nice, territory with swimming pool and a many beautiful roses around.
Food was good enouph, maybe not as much as in Turkey, but still tasty.

We've been 8 family's and we have read the reviews of this hotel on google but we said lets try it there is no way all the negative reviews are true about this place but we have been rong. Many of us have problems with the stomach some have diarrhea some can't go at all and few have fallen at the bed with headache and fever. Worst vacations ever.

Overall a good place to stay comparing price and distance to the beach and the center. I'm giving 2 stars less due to 2 reasons. First, the swimming pool looks great from the pictures but on site it does not keep you wanting to try it out at all. Secondly, the water in the shower in the room was very hard to arrange. At first it's hot for 2 minutes, then cold again. During the evening it was a bit easier to take a shower.

Front desk staff is friendly and they understand English. Due to current Covid situation, sauna and pool bar is closed. 6 kinds of food are being served at noon also 2 or 3 types of salad.
During working hours of the restaurant the only bar in Colosseum is open with Bulgarian drinks. Waiters at the restaurant don't understand English but they are friendly and willing to help. Outside working hours of the restaurant you get NOTHING. Also it's not allowed to leave the restaurant with drinks or food.
The rooms are clean & on Tv are only local stations and CNN.
The beach is very close and is being cleaned every night. So is only sand - no rocks or pebbles. Colosseum has no agreement on the beach - no sunbeds or drinks there - outside of the hotel you're on your own. In Sunny Beach I saw other hotels with a better approach. Guess each manager applies different rules.
