The Atrium Hotel

Avoid at all costs!! Prior to the stay we attempted multiple times to call and no answer. I attempted to contact via email many times and never once received any sign of life. Upon arrival we were told that there was no air conditioning and they were fixing it, but it was never resolved for the whole of our stay, despite us having paid for it. The heat in the room was unbearable, as we were in Frankfurt during a heatwave where the weather was reaching 39 degrees. It was impossible to sleep or relax in the rooms without feeling ill from the heat. In addition to this the fridge in the room, that was advertised, was broken. In an attempt to cool down we tried to run a cold bath, but the plug in the bath was uneven and water would run down the drain no matter what was done. The only compensation given for the inconveniences throughout our stay was 2 free 500ml water bottles. This entire experience left us feeling scammed out of the money we paid, most of what was advertised we never received, we never got a genuine apology for the poor conditions and we would highly recommend that you avoid the Atrium in Frankfurt at all costs.

I recently stayed at The Atrium Hotel in Frankfurt, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.

To start on a positive note, the room was spacious and comfortable, which I appreciated. However, it was very dark and could benefit from better lighting.

One of the main issues was cleanliness. The room was not properly cleaned, and I could see dust on the floor. I was not satisfied with the level of cleanliness, which is unacceptable for a hotel stay.

Another frustrating experience was the checkout process. The official checkout time was 12 PM, yet a cleaning worker knocked on my door twice at 11 AM, insisting that I leave. He didn’t speak English and simply tapped his wrist to signal that I had to go, even though I still had an hour left. This was very unprofessional and he doesn't have the right to knock on my door before checkout. Also, you cannot hire staff in a hotel full of tourists who don't speak English! When I reported the issue to the reception, the staff member reacted with clear annoyance, as if I had offended him, and he didn’t even acknowledge my concern.

Additionally, the fridge in my room was not working, which meant that all the food I had bought went to waste. The shower also had major issues—initially, no water was coming out, and I had to fix it myself. Then, the water kept switching between hot and cold every 10 seconds, making it impossible to have a comfortable shower.

Overall, while the room itself had potential, the lack of cleanliness, poor service, broken appliances, and rude staff made my stay very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel unless they improve their service and facilities.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Instead of a proper wall, there was a door separating my room from the adjacent one, making it impossible to have any privacy. I could hear everything—from sneezing to conversations—which was extremely uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, the bathroom was not properly cleaned, with visible stains in the toilet, weird cigarette smell, which was absolutely unacceptable. Additionally, I was charged a "City Fee" of €4, something I was not informed about in advance. Having stayed at multiple hotels in Frankfurt City Center, this was the first time I encountered such a charge. The lack of transparency regarding additional fees was frustrating.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel due to poor room design, cleanliness issues, and unexpected charges.

We stayed in January and heating didn’t work at all, so room was cold all the time. Also there was a smell of cigarettes and weed in the room. Good only if you need it for one night close to main train station and center

Don’t stay here unless it’s your only option. It should’ve been a sign to not stay here when my emails went unanswered on how to arrange the airport shuttle pickup.

The website states there is an airport shuttle but we never saw one. We used the train from the airport which we were only able to figure out thanks to help from helpful people.

The person at reception was nice & helpful, the room was clean, and the beds were extremely FIRM. We had a room facing an inside type of courtyard and there wasn’t road noise but there were people talking loudly all through the night that echoed throughout the courtyard. Then about 1 AM the thick smell of pot came flooding in our room through the ventilation system. Enough that it gave me an upset stomach. We stayed one night during midweek. It was one night too long. We did not receive breakfast.
