We stayed at this hotel for one night while we were in Frankfurt. We did plenty of research and were well prepared for the location. So I can fully understand why some reviewers felt so strongly about the neighborhood. First of all. It is very confidently located about less than 10 min walk away from the train station. But you might have to cross two blocks of red light district and saw drug addicts right in front of the hotel. It’s possible to by pass the bad streets if you do some research on alternate to the train station or to the city.
The staff was very helpful gave us early check in around 9am which was a big plus since we just got off our plane at around 8. Unfortunately they don’t Speak much English so were not able to answer any questions, which is fine.
The room is clean and offered everything we expected of a hotel. Beds were comfortable and shower is nice.

If I can review this property as minus 5, overall, I would do it. My 12 year old son was traumatized. He is fearless and surfs and swims with sharks. However, he was shocked to see derelict homeless drug addicts sticking needles and passing out drugs just 50 meters from the hotel. View from the room is of a park where drug addicts are passed out. One drug addict approached us and shouted in German, a language we do not understand. We are shocked that this hotel has an overall 4.6 rating on Google.
This is an unsafe hotel and not a suitable neighbourhood.

P.S. the hotel did send us a macaroon each as compensation when we asked why the check-in staff did not warn us about the neighbourhood, especially when they saw us with young kids.
This is an unsafe hotel and not a suitable neighbourhood.

Very pleasant staff and spacious clean rooms. Great status recognition - very pleasantly surprised with welcome amenities. Close to train station which is convenient. Unfortunately walk from train station, although only about 8 minutes, is somewhat scary, but that is not the fault of the hotel but lax governments that endanger law abiding citizens in favor of misconceptions of equity. Fortunately, walking along other side of hotel to the financial district and Romer area is nice and safe.

The hotel is great but they built it in the wrong neighbourhood. When you step out of the hotel it is not safe. Full of homeless people on drugs. They will steal from you if given the opportunity. They urinate on the sidewalks so thats what you smell when trying to go for walks. I’m surprised not a lot of reviews mention this. Had I known I would have chose a different hotel. You don’t feel safe when leaving the hotel.

One of the better Holiday Inns out there. Large, newly furnished, clean rooms, nice staff, very good breakfast. Excellent value overall.
Location, as a lot of guests noted, is not perfect since it’s adjacent to the red light district. But if taken a slightly longer route, even the main train station can be reached without having to trip over drug users. Solid 4.5 stars.

Great place to stay! Very quiet, super comfortable bed & pillows, great check-in & check-out times, and wonderful customer service. The location is very convenient to downtown and the main train station. The only downside is the area between the hotel and the train station is a little sketchy but expected this since it is common around public transport hubs in most cities. The trade-off for a convenient location. The hotel itself seems to be in a safe location and the directions away from the train station are just fine.

Great place to stay! Very quiet, super comfortable bed & pillows, great check-in & check-out times, and wonderful customer service. The location is very convenient to downtown and the main train station.

Rooms were really nice and breakfast was very good. Hotel was clean and decorated nicely. Staff was also very nice.
I don't know if this is in actually in the hotels power to to something, but outside the hotel was very unsafe. Right across the street of the hotel were junkies in every hour of the day (you wake up and open the curtains and the first thing you see is them) and they just kept going all the way to the railway station. I would not walk alone outside of the hotel.

Nice little hotel pretty close to main train station and is within walking distance(although a long walk) of the old town and Rhine. However a few streets down from the hotel seemed pretty shady. Staff was friendly and rooms were nice enough. Pillows were very uncomfortable though. Not a bad stay for a fair price.
