NH Collection Frankfurt City Hotel

This was our first time staying at this hotel. Upon first glance when you see the lobby it is very upbeat and clean. Upon arriving on the floor it needs a refresh, large marks on the walls where wall paper has been removed etc. First impression was I hope it gets better. The room was clean but very plain, very institutional like. Location was good and house keeping was good. Now the bad...knowing full well it is expensive to get laundry done in a hotel I get it. I filled out the paperwork for the laundry list and took the laundry down to the front desk. When I picked up the laundry there was an additional 50 euro charge on the bill because they did the laundry on a Saturday. No where on the paper work does it indicate that this would be a charge. The front desk said I was informed of this and contrary to what they will say...they did not. I am a cheap person and a 50 euro additional charge I would have waited to have it done. At minimum this should be on there paper work. Then the front desk clerk decided to argue with me telling me it is a law in Germany, we have been told otherwise by friends in Germany. For that reason alone I would not recommend this hotel, a dishonest policy to stick it to tourists. I guess they probably call it the foreigner tax.

Horrible experience. Leftover food rotten in the room and what was worse is one of the management staff tried to shift the blame on us. When found the rotting food with another staff member, a mere compensation of buffet for dinner at their restaurant was offered. The rest of the staff were nice and friendly though.
