This hotel had a lot to offer! Many restaurants and they were able to make sure I had gluten free options. They even have gluten free bread available if you ask at all the restaurants, room service and always available at the complimentary breakfast. The rooms were tough - I ended up switching rooms once but my colleague switched theirs 4x because it smelt like smoke. Its tough cause they have a no smoking policy within the rooms but doesn't do much where everywhere people are smoking. If you are sensitive to the second hand I'd recommend going into the room and testing it out before you settle in. Because I switched rooms I realized that each room is pretty much set up completely different. Some have tea bags and chocolate as you enter whereas others look like they forgot to add stuff. So I'd just ask for any complimentary toiletries if you didn't get one. The pool is outside which is nice and the gym had all the basic things you would need to get a quick 30 minute session in. I'd definitely recommend and try to get a room facing away from the hotel on the top floors.

Great hotel. Well located in the most exclusive Cairo neighbourood. Pool service is 5 star. Plenty of excellent afordable restaurants. Lively outdoor area. Friendly staff. Rooms are spacious an comfortable, classic style.

TLDR: great complex, decent restaurants, and mediocre rooms.

BE AWARE: the cleaning crew/ hotel workers go through your rooms looking for money to steal. They have safes in the room, but… they control the safes, so be careful what you leave lying around. They did not mess with our electronics or documents. We know this because a member of our group caught a hotel worker going through his bags and caught it on video. *Apparently* the hotel worker was fired, but there was no verification of this.

Health and Sanitation: wouldn’t trust the tap water, but none of the food / restaurants / ice gave me any *significant* issues. If you’re from the West, your stomach is just having to get used to the new area, you will get some mild bubble guts. Take some antinal and you’ll be fine.

The rooms were pretty lame and gross feeling. The hotel somewhat reeks of cigarette smoke, but that’s many places in Egypt.

The gym was well stocked for a hotel gym, you have pretty much everything you need and it was never super busy.

The courtyard area is where this place shines. It’s a beautiful outdoor area with plenty of seating and where you can also order food / drinks. The service is slow, they are not very attentive, and you pretty much have to search for a waiter every time you want something. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant ambience, and we spent many of our evenings in this area.

The casino is okay- $10 minimum for all bets. You have some older slots, blackjack, ultimate Texas hold ‘em, roulette, and progressive Royale. Patrons are allowed to place their money on your seat, which may nerve-wrack some. I did not experience any issues with this and I always received my appropriate winnings.

The hotel restaurants all use the same drink menu for the most part. Wine and beer are very cheap, the mixed drinks are pretty expensive. None of the food blew me away but it was decent.

Another nice thing is that none of the workers ask for tips. You can enjoy this place without being harassed for extra money.

I had a 1 week stay at the Marriott. 2 days vacation and 5 days work. Cannot recommend. The hotel looks great but is old. It is extremely loud. There are 2 Marriott hotels in Cairo. The Omar Khayyam seems to be a party hotel.

The hotel staff is most wonderful! Wonderful people and very friendly. Not all of them speak English, but they make due.

The pool is shallow but nice, I enjoyed it a lot.
The service is excellent: 6 stars if I could give 6!

There are several very good restaurants in the hotel complex.
The food from the restaurants is delicious! I can totally recommend those! But things are sometimes a bit unorganized. Even with a cornucopia of staff you still gotta wait.

There is loud music until midnight and after. The hotel garden is used as venue with loud music. The road is directly behind the rooms and can be heard 24/7. The loudest part of the hotel was the ventilation installations. Although the rooms have double glass windows, the noise can still be heard, especially at night. The A/C inside the rooms is loud too.

The rooms come with a lack of electric outlets. You need to unplug lamps to make room for your chargers.
The bed is extremely soft! I slept really well (I was so exhausted from work, I fell asleep despite the noise, but my ears were ringing in the morning).

The business-center offers several conference rooms. The rooms have a snack-bar that is filled way too much with all sorts of delicacies. Lunch is served in a royal dining hall. I can recommend this business location.

After reading some negative reviews on here I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is gorgeous and in a top location. It is an ugly city and this place is like an oasis. Good service and great food (Hard to come by in Cairo)

Yes, the rooms are a bit dated but it still feels premium enough to warrant 5 stars. For the price it's a steal.

We had a wonderful overnight stay. We spent our wedding night at this hotel in 2006, so we celebrated 18 years of marriage on a trip from Australia to Cairo this year.

The member of staff who made our stay memorable is Joseph in reception. Thank you Joseph for your outstanding service.

We enjoyed the French restaurant for dinner, the garden for shisha and cocktails, the buffet breakfast (exceptional) and the swimming pool the following day.

The bedding is also worth mentioning. The bed felt like a cloud it was so luxurious and comfortable, with rich feather duvet and crisp white cotton sheets.

A real palace, extraordinary beauty. Food quality is Marriott standard. And Marriott Bakery is the best.

The old part of the hotel will captivate you, the rooms are cozy and large.

Pleasant Hotel, nice green area. Friendly staff. There are several cafes and restaurants on site where you can have a good and tasty time

I was having two-days training in there, Hotel facilities are good generally. However, the restaurant wasn't at all good. Food wasn't freshly served, and it was like cooked two days earlier and just microwaved to get served. Snacking was overall nice in the training room. We were cat-called from a residents' balcony while passing from the main tower to the restaurants within a separate passage between both buildings! It was the first time for me to get harassed as a woman inside a hotel!
