Hotel Touraine Opera

I do net recommend this hotel at all.
I booked this hotel as a surprise trip with my girlfriend and we were beyond disappointed from the first moment we arrived.
To begin with, the “reception” , if you can call it that, was in complete disorder and managed by two young women who were very nice but didn’t know a thing about managing a hotel.
The cleanliness was also very poor.
When our room was ready, the receptionist told us that the elevator was broken, which is something that was criticized a few times in other reviews of the hotel months before, which lets us think that the elevator almost never works, something that is not acceptable for a "4 star" hotel.

The corridor is also very dark and not welcoming at all.
Arrived in the room, we were shocked by what we saw : a very small room without any natural light because the only window in the room faced a concrete wall.
We were welcomed by a noise which we were later told was the neighbor practicing electric guitar but were reassured that in the late evening he would stop the practice.
To top that, the sound of the metro would even make the room vibrate. Apart from that, the room it itself and again the cleanliness left much to be desired.
We very quickly decided that we didn’t want to stay at this hotel so we asked in the reception to at least get our money back for the second night which they refused by stating that we could have asked for a better room.
This practice of first giving away the least appealing accommodation for then telling the customer that they could get a better room in the same price category is beyond our comprehension.

So all in all a very disappointing stay if you could name it that, because we didn’t even stay a night. Would never book this hotel, which is not even close to a good 3 star hotel, again.
