Major issue in cleanliness and maintenance! I have stayed in this hotel previously and liked it, so felt confident to book again but unfortunately the quality has changed significantly for the worse.

When I entered the room I noticed dirt on the floor, previous guest's rubbish in the bathroom bin and general staining in areas of the room. The bed sheets and pillow cases were stained with blood and brown/grey stains. The socket by the bed was broken (someone had snapped one of the metal bits inside it), when I noticed this as my plug would not go in, it was already too late and my adapter had been broken, subsequently overheating my charger and phone when plugged into a working socket. I was lucky to have my phone notify of overheating, as the devices and cables became so hot they may have caused a significant issue moments later. My phone battery and adapter has since then been broken.

The hair&body soap dispenser is terrible, impossible to operate without it coming off the wall constantly. Nor do I think a 4* hotel should have 2in1 hair and body soap in the first place, especially of such poor quality.

The location of the hotel is great, very central, you do hear airplanes all through the night but that is often is the case around Heraklion centre.

The service is ok. Overall, if the room was clean and its fixtures and fittings were in good repair I would have given a better rating, but there is no excuse for such poor level of cleanliness and maintenance.

We booked a triple room but the third bed was a sofa and very hard and uncomfortable. The sound proofing is poor and you feel like you are sleeping in the airport. The bathroom had no door. The air-conditioning was not on and when we asked reception they said they controlled it. They put it on for few hours over night but in the morning it was off againI had to call reception twice before it was out on. All three of us had a very poor night's sleep. The roof bar was nice.
