Reviews
The only aspect I would criticise is the cold snacks available for late arrivals which were past the point of freshness by some margin. The town of Kos is Very pretty and is a joy to walk round day and night. AIGLI cafe restaurant in kos town is very good indeed. The harbour is very nice. The hotel rooms are spread out along the whole site connected by smooth wide pathways.there is a colony of cute cats around the site but create no nuisance and are quite cute. Room service was effective and discrete.mobile and WiFi signals were good. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
We are a couple who live extremely busy lifestyles, and high stress jobs , so to walk into utter relaxation is just what we needed.
We always choose start or end of season, for a quiet atmosphere, and this resort did not disappoint. It was quiet, some days feeling like we had the luxury of a whole pool & beach to ourselves, but the hotel kept full service as normal.
We chose the premium rooms , and they were comfortable with stunning views , especially sun set.
The staff were so friendly, every staff member, from shop, kitchen, waiters, maintenance and of course the lovely reception staff, nothing was too much , from friendly chats , to local knowledge or helping us hire a car . We also had a frequent cat visitor, who ended up getting injured, he also was not neutered and the hotel arranged for him to get treatment, I also found out that the hotel paid for cats to get neutered, to help take the pressure of the local rescues, i just find this amazing.
The food was beautiful, we were really worried about this reading the reviews , but it was just as beautiful as the town taverns, im happy they keep it authentic Greek.
I have not got enough time to describe how much i love this place, I always say I would never visit a place more than once, and I always find beautiful places , but nothing that gives the feeling this hotel did, I can't wait to visit again.
The only small thing I would change is the blanketsn/ toppers , they are single and we would prefer to be under the same one , but that's preference, the beds were very comfortable.
I have no idea how this hotel can get any negative reviews as it is perfect.
Thankyou for a magical stay

Other than that it was great. Would reccomend for a week away
This hotel has beautiful views of the ocean and coastline, lovely picturesque scenery of the premium bungalows and during the day it can be quiet and peaceful (we came in October, end of season so Kos is usually quiet in general).
However, for the meals, especially in the evening it can be a hectic confusing experience of queuing for upto an hour to just enter the restaurant area, due to excess of guests and lack of seating facilities, (some food may also run out during this time). Upon entry you are seated by staff before getting your food but if you do leave your seat to get your food, you will 100% have someone swoop in there and take it even though it's just been given to you by that staff member, so I would grab a plate of food first before being seated. You cannot get your own drinks in the evening meal, you have to wait until one of the few staff available notice you and will then come over and ask you which drink you would like, usually by this time you have nearly finished your meal.
There's quite a lack of staff available here and so wait time can be long for restaurant and also the bar, often queuing for both.
Room consumables are rarely replenished often meaning you will have to go to the front desk and ask for toilet roll, coffee, sugar etc.
It seems the hotel is trying to be a resort without the facilities or infrastructure required for this, with too many people for a lack of facilities. As this is low season I am unsure how the hotel coped during the summer months when it is peak holiday season.
I would also add it seems a lot of the guests get heavily drunk off the inclusive cocktails throughout the day which leaves for very noisy and interruptive evenings and nights, not one night was managed to sleep a full night undisturbed. There was more than 3 occasions where we could hear and see domestic altercations and hear damage to hotel property from the guests.
I would highly recommend using your room safe/putting valuables back into your suitcase and locking it when leaving your room as there was an incident during my stay that would have resulted in the attention of the police, a valuable necklace that was usually left in a particular spot next to my bedside (Kos had always been safe to do this) went missing when we got back from our day trip, it "miraculously" was found behind the fridge (?) the day after we had reported it to front desk, emailed explaining if it was not found we would need to contact local police for insurance purposes and called our holiday representative to inform them of the missing item.
We lost trust in this hotel and would hate for this to be someone's first experience of Kos as it is a wonderful island with lovely people. We changed hotels midway through due to this experience, our holiday rep was able to sort out the transfers from the second hotel to the airport which was kind.
Aeolos is a picturesque hotel with great potential, however all of the above has dampened our stay and we would not want this to be a similar experience for others if this is your first time coming to Kos.
Staff was lovely, especially Eve at reception, Dimi in the restaurant, Mohammed, they made us feel like home. Thank you guys for making our stay so lush and unforgettable! We will be back! Xxx
Premier Bungalows are a must. They are spacious, clean, and come with perks, such as designated sun loungers labelled with your room number. Our room was in need of some TLC. Missing hooks on the curtains (which definitely needed washing) a broken hinge on the wardrobe door and others were rusty. The manager was apologetic and agreed that repairs were needed. He also explained that they were working very hard to make the hotel successful. The Premier Bungalow pool area is a designated quiet area, which is lovely, and very clean. If you want music and noise, the main pool area is the place to go.
If you are in a Premier Bungalow, please do note that the lovely 'Tranquil' restaurant (it's name is very apt) by the beach, closes at the end of September as does the luxury of a member of waiting staff taking drink orders from the pool area. We were not aware of the closure and were disappointed 😔. It is on the website but you have to click several links to find it, unfortunately we missed that info! 😢 I believe that this hotel, with some improvement, which the manager is working on, could become very sought after and be deserving of the 4* it is advertised as.
We had a superior bungalow which was really spacious on the inside especially for 2 people, and had its own sunbeds on an outdoor terrace as well as a table and chairs which were really handy. However we have visited towards the end of the season so there were plenty of sunbeds around the pool. The room was clean and had a massive walk in shower and double sinks. The only small thing which i have found is very common in Europe is a double bed is 2 singles together but they did move a bit and so created a gap which could be a little uncomfortable but it did not affect our sleep and the pillows were great.
The pool and bar area were good - it had a large pool where you could swim comfortably and there were plenty of sunbeds but we did come in October so towards the end of season so was not as busy. There were a range of cocktails, wine beer spirits and soft drinks available on all inclusive from the pool bar and they were all more than satisfactory. There was food everyday as well at the pool bar as well as ice cream and cakes. Food from here was always tasty, and although it was only a set meal every day we really enjoyed them. There were also a child’s pool and a premium area but since we were a couple and had not paid for that then I cannot comment.
Food - the buffet was fine for us each day. There was plenty of selection and although I read reviews stating everything was the same - I found that although some things like salad and cold meat/cheese remained the same there was some variation in hot food. They also had 4 theme nights in our week stay where they put on different meals in the evening. I would say that some days I found more I wanted than others but I think that is the same anywhere. It is not 5* dining but that’s not what I was expecting and both myself and my husband thought it was more than adequate. The staff in general were all helpful and friendly as well.
As I have said we came at the end of the season but from what I gathered from our rep it is a quieter hotel in terms of limited daily entertainment. There was a karaoke night when we were here that was fun and a good laugh, but we were looking for a relaxing break and so we really were not bothered by this but if you are then it may not be the hotel for you but that is not a fault of the hotel I would say, more about what you want out of a holiday.
There is also a bus stop at the end of the drive which is €2 each way and about 20 minutes into Kos. It is not really walkable but we enjoyed a trip there to break up the week.
The hotel is beach front but it is quite stony and not white sand but people were still swimming and using beach shoes. As they cannot put sunbeds on the beach we stayed around the pool but you could put sunbeds from the massive grassed areas right up to the beach so you were very close to the water. It is quite a big complex with a lot of grassed areas with sunbeds as well.
Overall for the price we paid and with the expectations we had we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I think it would depend on what you want out of a hotel and holiday overall but hopefully this can give an honest review without being negative
Pros:
- The sunset view
- The main pool was large and a good temperature
- The ladies with glasses on reception and Anna in the restaurant & bar were nice friendly, helpful people
- Our room was cleaned every day. We were provided with clean towels and a large bottle of water every day.
Cons:
I need to point out quite a few problems with the food & drink here:
- The food was really bad. They say they have something for everybody but they really don't. The themed food, Italian, Greek, Mexican etc were not good representations of food from these countries. The food was not hot, was not prepared well (undercooked meat in the Moussaka on Greek night for example) and was not enjoyable at all.
A crazy thing here is we could not get any coffee after dinner with dessert. Staff rudely brushed us off saying that coffee is only for breakfast. What a strange thing to say. Are we not in Europe anymore? I have never experienced this before anywhere in my life.
The breakfast is aimed at their German guests only it seems to us. Boiled frankfurter are not a breakfast item anywhere else in the world (come to Ireland we will show you what a breakfast sausage should taste like). The eggs were undercooked and disgusting. The croissants and sweet breads were disgusting. The fruit did not taste fresh to us. And the morning coffee was really, really disgusting. We had breakfast twice in the hotel and then did not have another single breakfast for the rest of our stay. For dinner we tried twice in main hotel restaurant and once in the restaurant beside the beach. We did not enjoy the food at all.
- The alcoholic drinks are all diluted. There were no glasses available either at the bar in the hotel or at the pool bar for our entire stay. One of the bar ladies (NOT Anna) was very rude and sarcastic with guests and made us all feel very uncomfortable, telling us it is not her problem there is no gin, no whiskey and no glasses. Ourselves and other guest stood there looking at her in disbelief while she made these comments.
- The male bar staff were the most unprofessional bar staff I've ever experienced, anywhere in my life. When you order the same drink but it is a different size and different taste each time that is very strange and not acceptable. How do you make the same cocktail different each time? Wow, that's really bad. They were more concerned with smoking and talking with each other to the side of the bar. Nice guys to be friends with I am sure, just not good at their jobs.
- The really REALLY loud music from the pool bar started at 10am every morning. Even with the balcony door closed in our room it was very loud and we couldn't sleep.
- There was really loud maintenance works occurring early in the mornings near the end of our stay. We got no warning of this and it badly affected our sleep.
- There are serious drainage problems in the hotel. The urinals in the bathrooms beside the pool were overflowing with urine every single day. We also had serious problem with the shower drain in our room. The water would not drain and kept overflowing into the room and we had to put lots of towels down each time. We raised this issue with the hotel and they told us it was rectified but it wasn't. There was also a bad smell of sewage in the bathroom.
- The rooms in the hotel have been renovated but the shower head in our bathroom was old, broken and had mould on it.
I feel a bad writing such a poor review as there are good people working here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unfortunately. Maybe if the food & drink situation was better I would, but it is so far from another town that you cannot simply walk out of the hotel for other options.
Everything from the initial check in to the final check out was exceptional. The room, the food, all of the staff, everything was first class and nothing was a problem for anyone. We thoroughly enjoyed a stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
We will be returning again next summer !
Once again, thanks to all
