Danubius Hotel Erzsebet City Center

I have stayed at this hotel several times before, and is my "go to" hotel in Budapest. On this occasion I was not able to stay at the hotel because of an urgent business issue requiring me to fly to Frankfurt immediately. The staff were excellent in helping me reschedule my pick up for the airport transfer, as well as allowing me access to the room (it was a none refundable booking) several hours before the 3pm check in time so I could have a couple of hours rest and much needed shower after an overnight flight. The understanding and help shown by the staff was outstanding and much appreciated. Definitely this will continue to be my "go to" hotel in Budapest.

Perfect place to be very good location near everything you need

I especially liked the location. It's easy to walk to any area, and there's a bus stop nearby with direct buses to the metro and airport. So it's great for transportation. The front desk service is also very friendly and convenient, being available 24 hours a day.

When we came to Budapest, a friend picked us up at the hotel. We followed the navigation and turned around for several circles before we found it. In fact, the location is quite good. There is a parking space at the door, so we can stop for a while to take our luggage. The hotel lobby feels very retro. On the first day, I was not used to English yet, so I didn't take the initiative to greet the handsome guy at the front desk, and the handsome guy didn't say a word to us. After checking in, I found that it looked like a three-star hotel in China in the last century. Although the bed was narrow, it was very comfortable. The hotel does not provide toiletries, only a bottle of glass water, and a bottle of water was provided for several nights. In winter, the room was not cold at all, and there was heating. It takes 4 minutes to walk to the subway station. There is a supermarket next to the subway station. It is very close to the Danube River. It is no problem to walk to the Central Market. We didn't get over the jet lag on the first day, and woke up at 4 am (actually it was 11 noon in China, 7 hours later). So, we walked out at 6 am, went to the subway station to buy a one-day transportation ticket, and then went to the Central Market for a walk. It is recommended not to go too early, because many shops are not open. I only bought bread at the AlDI supermarket in the basement for breakfast. Friends who come here, get up early and go to Fisherman's Bastion! Take a ride on the retro tram here.

Location is the best! We had a wonderful stay here. Room was lovely, actually had three chairs to sit on other than the bed! Bedding crisp clean white. B’fast was totally adequate. Within walking distance of many sights, walking street and the Danube and restaurants galore! Staff were great! Thank you!

Not far from the center. Great location and fine breakfast. Not glamorous but all ones needs are met! Restaurant Main Stream Kitchen (next door) has a great menu and food was delightful!

This is a great hotel in a great location. It has a metro station less than 2 mins walk from the hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and has a great shower room. The breakfast was perfect and you could eat as much as you wanted. The staff were helpful and there was someone there every time we passed reception. I would stop here again and would recommend it to friends and family.
