Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest

I had high expectations for the Four Seasons Hotel restaurant, but sadly, my experience was nothing short of a disaster. I had planned a surprise for my boy friend with gathering his friends , but the restaurant completely ruined it by saying (your friends are waiting for you) To make matters worse, they didn’t even bring the cake that was supposed to be a part of the surprise. Also 4 of my guest were guiding wrongly to the another table under my name and they were there for 45 minutes !!!!!!!!! The waiter was incredibly rude, making both me and my guest feel uncomfortable throughout the evening.

After paying nearly 200,000 forints for what was supposed to be a special night, we were left feeling disappointed and frustrated. This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and I will never return to this place. For such an upscale establishment, this level of service is unacceptable

The two stars I am giving is for how beautiful is the hotel and the location because the service needs some improvement.
We wanted to go for a drink at the iconic Four Seasons Budapest and we asked if there is any beautiful terrace or rooftop. First of all no one welcomed us at the door, at least “hello how can we help”. Nothing, which shocked me as I know that service is the thing that makes Four Seasons unique. We went inside and literally no one approached us to ask if we needed any help. So after going around the hotel for 4/5 minutes I approached the host myself of one of the restaurant/bar at the ground floor and I kindly asked : “ do you have a rooftop bar or terrace where we can have a drink? “
And the host said : “ yes but you cannot have a drink, it’s rooms. It’s not a bar”. He seemed to be upset for asking him that question. What surprised me is that he didn’t even offer us any alternative, or tell us where we can have a drink. I was shocked. Definitely that’s not the four seasons service I know.
Please work on the service.

Stunning looking hotel in a very nice area and with some lovely views. Unfortunately if you are from a South Asian background you won't feel as welcome here, slightly dated attitudes from staff members - by all means not everyone, few very nice people especially at the reception. Perhaps a one off but did not feel very welcomed, especially compared to other guests at the restaurant. Not something you expect in this day and age.
