Courtyard by Marriott is definitely more of a business-focused hotel. It is on the pricier side, but overall very comfortable. The staff deserve special mention — they are consistently friendly, polite, and helpful.

Breakfast is average for my Asian palate, but I appreciate the effort to offer a wide variety of dishes each morning.

A few things could be improved:

The gym feels too small and gets crowded in the morning.

A kids’ club or small play area would make the hotel much more family-friendly.

Water refills can be inconvenient since guests need to go down to the lobby. A small pantry or refill station on each floor would be a great addition.

On the plus side, there’s an Emporium mall and a café right next to the hotel, which is very convenient. Its central location also makes it easy to access different parts of the city.

Overall, I’d rate it an 8/10 for business stays and 6.5/10 for family stays.

Great location near the city center, with easy access to restaurants and affordable pricing.

What stood out was that the sauna and steam room were operating even at 2 a.m. While small—just enough for two people—it was a really pleasant surprise, especially with jet lag keeping me up.

This was one of the 5 Courtyard’s that we stayed on our vacation in Europe, however, the checked in experience was disappointing especially I am Marriott Titanium member, the front desk person not even recognized my Marriott status, all he focus was that I used Marriott reward points for my room and told me that I am not entitled for room upgrade, as a result, he put us at the same level with other tourist group and my room is in front of the elevator. The rest of the service staff i.e. restaurant/bar waiter or waitress and housekeeping are professional and courteous. Overall, it was a busy hotel due to the location, I think some of the front desk staff need further training.

Great stay at Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center! The location is perfect in the heart of the city with easy access to public transport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and cozy, not too big but comfortable with large windows. Highly recommended!

This is a very nice hotel in a good location convenient to public transport and about 20 or so minutes from the main sites along the river. It's right next to a large shopping mall, and there are a lot of restaurants nearby.

The furnishings are a bit dated, and the carpets in the room are quite old. Breakfast is nice. Staff is very helpful. This is a good value too, so I would gladly stay here again.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in the city center, on the Pest side of Budapest. The hotel was very accommodating, with clean and well-maintained facilities. Anna, the front desk associate, handled both our check-in and check-out and was incredibly professional and welcoming.
As a Titanium member, we were upgraded to a nicer room, which we appreciated. In the morning, Anita assisted us during breakfast — she was warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the breakfast offerings. Her hospitality really stood out and made our morning even better.
We’d definitely return to this location. The only suggestion I’d make is to consider updating the room designs to match the rest of the hotel’s modern feel.

The hotel is nice and the reception staff are friendly and understanding. Room amenities are basic but manageable.

And to add we are a Gold Elite member

However, the breakfast was a big letdown. Limited options, slow refills, and asking for anything felt like asking a favor. The worst part was when we took a couple of bananas for kids to our room—staff didn’t stop us but made a rude comment to a colleague, clearly directed at us. If it’s not allowed, just say so or put up a sign. No need for passive-aggressive behavior.

We’re staying in a suite at a Marriott—not because we can’t afford things. The judgmental attitude made us feel very uncomfortable. We’ve chosen to skip our already pre-paid breakfast for the rest of our stay. They can keep the money we paid for it. We don’t mind spending extra to eat outside.

It is very convenient to travel. The scenery of Budapest is very good. The hotel is also in the city center, which is convenient for going everywhere. It is close to the M2 subway station 🚉. There is also an M restaurant opposite. The room is also very large and comfortable. There is also a bathtub for taking a bath when you are tired.

I’ve stayed at Courtyard Budapest City Center several times over the past two months, and every time has been an exceptional experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, close to everything yet peaceful and comfortable.

The staff is truly outstanding: extremely helpful, attentive, and quick to assist with anything needed. Their kindness and professionalism make a real difference and elevate the whole experience.

The hotel is clean, modern, and welcoming, just like the beautiful city of Budapest itself. I always feel at ease and taken care of here. I’m already looking forward to coming back again as soon as possible. Thank you for making each stay so special! ❤️🇭🇺
