Hotel Castle Garden in Budapest

A small, quiet hotel in a beautiful location near the castle. It is a 5 minute walk to a bus stop with a very regular service. Public transport is very good and easy to navigate your way around.
There are lots of walking groups nearby which can be annoying but tge hotel was very quiet.
The hotel room and bathroom were spacious and clean.
I found the reception staff unfriendly and not very helpful. When we arrived from the airport at 12.30pm, we were abruptly told that we were too early, but then told the room was ready.
We had room only but were given no instructions about the hotel, breakfast, restaurant, spa, or the local area. When we asked later at reception where to purchase bus tickets we were given a vague direction "in the square" which was very unhelpful. Thank God for Google maps.
There was no 'do not disturb' or 'clean my room' notice and the cleaners did not come on our second day. I asked at reception for them to clean the room the following day, which they did.
We said good morning or evening when coming and going to the person on reception but this was not always reciprocated.

My experience at Castle Garden Hotel in Budapest was great overall — the rooms were clean, the location is quiet yet central, and everything felt comfortable and welcoming. But what really impressed me happened after I checked out.

I had accidentally left behind a bag with my training supplements — they’re expensive, but more importantly, they’re something I use every day. I honestly thought I’d never see them again.

But when I reached out to the hotel, the reception was incredibly kind and helpful. They didn’t just tell me to sort it out — they actually offered to enter all my shipping details directly into the GLS system for me, and even called me exactly when they said they would to help with the payment. They packaged everything securely and kept me informed the whole time.

To anyone considering this hotel: stop searching. Castle Garden Hotel is where genuine care still exists.😄

It is relatively close to Fisherman's Bastion, about 10 minutes' walk. The hotel has a good breakfast, an acceptable accommodation environment, and a comfortable terrace.

The room was very clean and tidy, and there was almost no noise. The location and price were very reasonable. The only drawback was that the hotel was located in an area with undulating terrain, so you have to go through a long flight of stairs on the way from the bus station to the hotel. If you have a lot of luggage, climbing the stairs will be tiring. People with old age and bad legs and feet need to consider this. I was very satisfied with everything else and will book a room again next time.

Close to Fisherman's Bastion, far from downtown but cheap so it's okay. The facilities are good and there's a restaurant right next door so it's very convenient. The photo is a photo of food eaten at the restaurant. The hotel staff are also very friendly.

I can honestly say it is one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. Rooms are clean and provide the highest comfort. In the bathroom you can expect beautifully scented cosmetics. We’ve been greeted with much needed coffee, while in the room there was a small treat waiting for us. The breakfast - pure perfection. But the most precious thing is the staff - professionals, who are really empathetic and always open to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Whenever we come to the Budapest, we will stay here.

Very good, I will travel with my friends again next time, the feeling and location of this hotel are very good. I want to stay here again at this time next year. This time I am here to attend a friend's wedding. The overall feeling is very good.

The breakfast is very rich and there is champagne. It is very close to various attractions.
