Excellent location - walking distance from the train station and most prominent attractions. Professional, friendly, English-speaking staff. Outstanding breakfast with a beautiful view (be sure to go on the terrace). Great service for the room. Lovely traditional decor throughout the hotel. The staff made a repair in our room with no issues or questions. Having such a great hotel room to return to each day was an important part of enjoying our stay in Florence.

We didn't stay at this hotel, but wandered in off the square to take a look around. A beautiful mix of modern amenities and ancient ruins, the lobby desk is adorned with 2 massive chandeliers and there are plenty of small quiet spaces to sit with windows overlooking the cathedral (and free wifi!).

The location is very central and convenient. The terrace has magnificent views and a nice bar. Service was decent. I had a room with a tiny window and lots of noise. One lift didn’t work the other was super slow. It was easier to take stairs but getting to 5 th floor is a lot of exercise. Overall a disappointing experience and very expensive at that. Can do much better

Absolutely beautiful hotel close to the sights. Beautiful rooms with plenty of space and complimentary water, soft drink and tea/coffee plus milk sachets. The breakfast room on the 5 th floor has fantastic views and lovely food. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful. This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in during my Italian holiday. I definitely will stay here again!

This place feels special from the moment you walk in. It had a delightful terrace with some of the best views in town where you can have drinks at night and breakfast in the morning. They also have a top floor restaurant which we didn’t try but looked quite sharp. The room had everything we needed and more, and the photographs inside the hotel were loaded with history and beauty. It will make your stay in Florence feel very special.

My wife and I were super excited checking into the hotel… It was extremely nice, and though the room is dark (as I’ve seen mentioned in other reviews), it has an old-world charm that we both thought was great… Not at all a negative. The vast majority of the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is nothing short of excellent… You are steps away from a large train station, and in the opposite direction, you are steps away from beautiful streets with lots of small shops, restaurants, and cafes. We unfortunately never did get to try the rooftop restaurant for dinner, but the breakfast buffet they served there is truly top-notch. To be honest, it’s one of the very best I’ve ever had. There are lots of servers to make sure the food is fresh and re-stocked whenever it runs out, and they are constantly swinging by your table to clear away anything you are finished with (and provide help should you need assistance).
The only problem we had was the temperature in our room. We were there in late July, and the outside temperatures were in the range of 30˚-40˚C. On the 4th floor, it was just miserable, and on that first night, they did not have enough fans to distribute, so we could not get one. The next night, however, we were kindly moved into a (much upgraded) room on the 2nd floor, and it was pleasant enough for sleeping, even if not quite as cool as we would have liked.
I would recommend staying here, but only during cooler months where the air conditioning would not be an issue.

Decent location, but this place is so dark and dreary inside I felt like I was in a sequel to The Shining.
The AC in the room barely kept the place cool. We had no cold water pressure and each time the water ran, whether from the sink or toilet, there was a squeal from the pipes within the wall for almost 10 minutes…each time!!!
Numerous electrical outlets in the room didn’t work either.

See attached photos. We noticed we had black mold on our ceiling and brought it to the front desk attention. They called their maintenance tech and he came into our room, said he was going to get it cleaned up and never did. We also were woken up to construction every day outside of our window. It would literally shake our room. Service is horrible besides the roof top bar. They all are fantastic and the view is great. Good location but the quality of our room was not great

Amazing hotel and an even better staff! Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. From the front desk, housekeepers, bellmen, and restaurant/bar staff! Views from the roof top were spectacular, and the buffet breakfast was very good! Conveniently in walking distance to the train station and to downtown Florence.

Beautiful location, in walking distance from the train station. Always greeted with a smile and very helpful. Awesome service from room, front desk, and breakfast staff. Thanks for making us feel at home away from home. Excellence is what is given from slippers to towel warmers. Top notch. 10 stars
