Reviews
After explaining the below issues to the reception when checking out, they reversed the payment via points for the hotel room.
**********************
I was left standing at check in for over 10 minutes while the staff chatted, upon checking in which took at least another 20 minutes to be told our rooms are not ready and they would call us when rooms were ready. Never received a call telling us the rooms were ready. When I returned to the hotel at 6pm, I was told breakfast was included and they would organise a late check out.
The next morning when I went for breakfast, I was told it was not included and a late check out can’t happen. So I booked another night using points so we can leave at 6:30pm. I called down to reception requesting we keep the room and stopped by reception on the way out to make sure they understood.
Upon returning to the hotel at 5:30pm, our room key no longer worked. So I went down to reception who seemed very confused and spent another 20minutes trying to explain for the third time so we could access a room we had paid for to use only for 1 hr. It ended up being 40minutes given the front desks confusion
Upon entering our room. The room had not been made up, bed unmade, complementary water was not replaced and the towels had been removed, so we used hand towels to dry ourselves.
I understand the hotel is being renovated but this does not excuse the appalling level of service.
The only frustrating part was the lack of food-heating options. There’s no microwave available for guests, and the staff seemed very hesitant to help heat up a simple packet of food I needed for my child.
At check-in, the receptionist was distracted and unprofessional, which left us confused. She was half checking us in and half chatting with her peers; it took forever with the process. She even told us breakfast was included, only for us to be told the next morning by an even more rude receptionist man that it wasn’t. I honestly wouldn’t have minded paying for breakfast, but the way the situation was handled felt dismissive and unpleasant.
The hotel itself also leaves much to be desired. The location is inconvenient — at least a 10-minute walk to the nearest train stations and far from the city center. On top of that, half the property seems to be under construction, which takes away from any sense of comfort.
The only positive I can mention is that the rooms are fairly spacious for a city hotel. Beyond that, this property is not up to Marriott standards. I won’t be coming back, and I’d recommend spending your holiday money elsewhere.
TL;DR:
• Inconvenient location
• Rude, unprofessional service
• Spacious rooms (the only plus)
During our visit, the hotel was undergoing renovations, so there was some noise and disruption during the daytime. However, the rooms have already been upgraded and now feature smart, modern designs with high-tech controls that make everything feel fresh and convenient. The renovation efforts are clearly aimed at elevating the overall guest experience.
In terms of location, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. The hotel is about a kilometer from the nearest metro station, so be prepared to walk a little. It is also not in the immediate vicinity of Milan’s major attractions, which might be a drawback for first-time visitors hoping to sightsee with ease. On the bright side, the hotel is right in front of a large supermarket and is surrounded by several restaurant options, which adds convenience for everyday needs.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The service and the good nearby amenities made up for the minor inconvenience of the construction and the slightly distant location. There was nothing I found to fault, and I would consider staying here again.
