Hotel Romanico Palace

Lovely hotel in its day but a little tired, now. It's in that classic Italian shabby chic look. The staff are really friendly, efficient and spoke good English. Loved the rooftop breakfast room with great views across Rome. The room was OK and as expected; although we chose a deluxe room; I think it was a classic room. There was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee. Room service provided some tea, coffee and milk on request, on the first night, but didn't get anymore for the next 4 days; or clean cups. Had to get our own tea bags and milk from the breakfast room every morning. The bed was comfortable but the shower lacked some basic maintenance. It had black mould and limescale buildup on the tiles and the shower head was broken and sprayed water in every direction, except where directed. I mentioned it to the main desk but they didn't replace it during our stay. Overall, we enjoyed our stay (we were out sightseeing all day) but it could have been better. Location is OK, near to some local restaurants (La Lampada very good) and shops and bus stops nearby. There is a fantastic museum down the road, Museum Boncompagni Ludovisi, with an eclectic mix of art, ceramics and fashion items.

One thing that made the stay amazing was the staff. They were so kind and helpful during our stay especially assisting with transportation. Our room was beautiful and air conditioned however we struggled with dust allergens. The surfaces were not dusty so we wondered if the plaster art at the headboard contributed to this or the large curtains. One other big positive was the complimentary breakfast. It was also about a 20 minute walk away from popular tourist sights such as trevi fountain/Pantheon/Spanish steps, 35 minute walk away from the colosseum, and an hour walk away from the Vatican. It was okay for us, but you would need transportation if you wanted to do more than one of those things in a day with a tour. Last note, the roof top bar is beautiful and romantic. It is expensive however if you know that before hand it won't be a shock. 1 mojito was about 25 euro but you get snacks for ordering. The stay was great and very friendly to travelers.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip before embarking on a cruise. We picked it specifically for the decor. I wanted to feel like we stepped back in time for my families first ever experience in Italy. The location was close enough to be able to walk to some major sites, close enough to a lot of restaurant options, but far enough away from the crowds to be quiet and not crowded. Staff were always very quick to answer my questions leading up to our visit. I never sleep well anywhere but my own bed and even though the bed didn’t feel like it was going to be comfortable, I slept so good for our 3 nights there. Better than I ever have in a hotel bed. They have a nice rooftop bar. I would recommend this hotel.

Middle ground between main touristy attractions. Clean rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. A bit of a drive to the Vatican City, walking distance (if you LOVE walking) to the Colosseum. In a more quiet area. Close to one of the train stations. Overall lovely.

Upgraded to bigger room. Staff attentive and friendly. Hotel very central and easy to get too from the railway station. Breakfast was served from the rooftop restraunt which had excellent views of Rome

Fantastic Hotel in a unique location, between the Dolce Vita of Via Veneto and the major attractions, such as Piazza di Spagna and Fontana di Trevi. Rooms in the baroque style, with Jacuzzi and view of the city. Recommended to all!
