We spent three magical nights at Thantara Resort Chiang Mai and couldn’t have dreamed of a better stay to unwind and enjoy nature.
From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome from the staff made us feel at home. Our Pool Villa with private pool was simply stunning — spacious, beautifully designed, and surrounded by lush greenery.
The entire resort feels like an oasis of tranquility, with our very own private pool to relax, the bikes are perfect for exploring the location and all the experiences the resort can offer (spa, cooking class and more). It’s perfect to disconnect from the city’s buzz while still being just a short drive from the heart of Chiang Mai.
We could enjoy 2 different types of breakfast, the mini buffet at the restaurant or the floating breakfast served in the room or should I say served in the pool ! Both fresh, made with their home grown fruits and vegetables and local products and a great variety of options. The service was impeccable throughout our stay — always kind and attentive.
If you’re looking for a luxurious yet peaceful escape in Chiang Mai, we can only recommend Thantara Resort. 💛✨

Declined to refund even $0.1 despite recent earthquake in Thai & vietnam without proper reasons, just keep saying that ChiangMai is safe, bad experience and not considerate at all

The rooms are quiet and comfortable, with a small swimming pool. The natural ecology in the park is well maintained, with the sounds of insects and birds everywhere, making it especially suitable for parent-child accommodation and travel. There are not many choices for breakfast, which does not meet expectations

We stayed here for 10 days and it was just lovely! Everything was perfect. The beds are really comfortable, our villa was spotless clean and beautyful. The AC worked very good. It gets as cold as you want. The view outside is amazing. I also used the fitness room quiet a lot and i was the only person there.
The most outstanding was the staff, really caring and proactive and very warm and friendly. They help you with everything and make you feel taken very good care of. They speak very good english too.
In 20-30minutes by car you are in the heart of Chiang Mai City, we used to go to the Nimman area every other day, there are lots of nice small restaurants if you feel you need some city vibes.
The most outstanding was the staff, really caring and proactive and very warm and friendly. They help you with everything and make you feel taken very good care of. They speak very good english too.
In 20-30minutes by car you are in the heart of Chiang Mai City, we used to go to the Nimman area every other day, there are lots of nice small restaurants if you feel you need some city vibes.

This was our first trip to Thailand and we wanted to go somewhere less touristy and commercialised like Bangkok and the islands to the south, so Chiang Mai was the city of our choice.
With so many resorts, villas and hotels to choose from, we chose Thantara. We made an excellent choice! For the next two weeks, we were treated so well.
The staff were dedicated, friendly, accommodating, helpful and kind. The resort is peaceful, secure, clean and tidy. The resort has push bikes so you can ride around the resort. They have a great restaurant and bar. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was served each morning. Our room was beautiful. Our room was cleaned daily and they stocked up bottles of water. They provide a laundry and ironing service at reasonable prices.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve at the resort, where they treated us to a buffet dinner, a live music band, giveaways and a fireworks display!
A different and unique experience for us.
We like to thank the lovely staff and management for their hospitality, kindness, commitment and passion for treating their guests. It made our stay in Thailand an unforgettable and wonderful experience.

Thantara Resort is very value for money for people looking for an accommodation that is close to nature but still clean and comfortable. It is not within walking distance to town and the main attractions, it takes around 30min drive. However, it offers a nice getaway vibe. Each villa is very spacious and there is a big toilet, big bath tub and private pool. There is also much space within the resort to walk/jog and cycle. There were many well maintained bicycles for us to use. We also tried the rice planting activity which was refreshing.
Service staff were all very cheerful and polite. There was always a ready buggy to pick us up from place to place, although some of the places were walkable, it was a nice touch for the older folks or people who prefer to walk less.
We have left some feedback for the resort privately on areas that could be improved, relating to consistency and proactiveness of the room makeup services.
Looking forward to our next visit.
