Seven Seas Hotel Blue - Ultra All Inclusive

We stayed at Monachus Family Resort in Sorgun two years ago, back when it was still part of the Seven Seas group. We had a fantastic experience that still stands out.

The food was amazing, with a great variety and consistently SUPERIOR quality. All the staff were not only extremely polite but seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. Everyone we interacted with spoke good English, which made communication very easy.

Special mentions go to the hotel customer services.

The photo team deserves recognition too. They were not only excellent photographers but also two wonderful brothers who made the experience so enjoyable.

Finally, perhaps the biggest thanks goes to the waiter who went out of his way to make us the best White Russian cocktails, even though it was not on the menu.

We have recently returned from a very enjoyable holiday at the Monachus Family Resort. Prior to our visit, we had read several negative reviews and were therefore somewhat apprehensive; however, we needn't have worried. Upon arrival, we were allocated a spacious and well-appointed family suite with a generous balcony area. The room was cleaned daily and mini-bar kept stocked up. Any requests made at reception were always provided for very quickly. The reception staff were always on hand to help, but special thanks to Sem who really stood out and was very helpful. English wasn't widely spoken at the hotel as most guests were from all across Europe but this actually provided a refreshing change of atmosphere. The buffet restaurant offered a wide variety of plentiful and tasty dishes. Although the hotel appeared to be understaffed during this busy period—most noticeably in the bars and restaurants—service remained as attentive as possible. We would like to give special thanks to Ecer in the buffet restaurant who was always smiling and helpful and he looked after us so well. We would also like to thank Tarik, who was a highly professional barman and consistently provided outstanding service. We were also treated to a unique cocktail at the Terrace bar, which added a memorable touch to our stay. Our thanks also go out to Riza, and also to Oscar who made a special effort to come out of his shop and say hello every morning when we passed. The lifeguards also made sure that the children were having fun. The hotel grounds were lovely and green and extremely well cared for, and it was only a short stroll to the beach. There was something for everyone in terms of pools and waterslides. It might not be a five-star resort, but we had everything we needed for a really fun and memorable holiday.

We have been coming to Turkey regularly for the last 10 years as it’s good value, guaranteed sunshine and nice hotels. We book a different hotel for each visit. The Monachaus hotel is advertised as five star, ultra all-inclusive with water slides for the kids. It’s not quite at five star level. The place is a little tired, understaffed and in general need of updating in all aspects. Rooms - Huge double bed which was very comfortable. Dated decor and too small for a family of three. There is a lack of storage space for clothes. The pull-out bed was rock hard with no mattress. We had to ask reception for one. Pools - Main pool is very nice and not too crowded. Impossible to find sun-beds after 9am as they’re all taken. The animation team keeps guests entertained with different games. The music blares out for a good few hours so you have to shout to be heard! The ‘crazy river’ is absolutely terrible. Only 3 rubber rings that have been patched together and have tears, to go around the whole ride! The poor life-guide has to follow the rings down as they get stuck constantly due to the lack of water flow. The wave pool doesn’t work but still nice. Three flumes and two slides are good fun. The two blue flumes are a bit of a walk across molten lava hot red flooring. The lazy river doesn’t work so you have to paddle yourself around in about a foot of water. Beach - nice beach. Much easier to find a sun-bed than at the pool. Great large shaded area. Quite a lot of rubbish swirling around in the wash. We did parasailing (£105 for three people)and the sofa bed (£55 for two) which were both brilliant. Staff - very little English spoken by staff around the hotel apart from on reception. But they are all very friendly and are always helpful. Bars - No alcohol apart from beer at swim up bar and at Amphitheatre bar. Only one person serving at each bar so have to wait ages to be served. The spirits are cheap local brands. The beer runs out at the pool bar by mid-afternoon. The coffee shop is excellent and has lovely iced coffees. The pool bar is great in the evening to enjoy the live music. The bar in reception is good for a cocktail and the large selections of cakes. Food - Found the buffet restaurant food to be very good. Lots of choices. Different themed nights. There’s an extra cost if the kids want candy floss or popcorn. The à la carte Turkish and Italian restaurants aren’t much to write home about. The food was better in the buffet restaurant. Pathways - the red rubberised pathways from the rooms around the hotel need relaying as are old, uneven and falling apart. This wouldn’t be a major job but would make a world of difference to the appearance. Summary - lovely 10 day holiday, amazing weather. A nice hotel, not as good as other 5 star, ultra-all-inclusive options in Turkey. With a bit of investment from the new owners this could be top notch.

Good hotel with plenty for the kids to keep entertained.

Staff are really nice. Diyar behind the bar was friendly and accommodating. Keeping us refreshed. Oscar was also such a nice guy always making an effort with the children. All the pool staff were also very nice. We will be sure to recommended this hotel.

A great environment for family, great hospitality, simple and stylish I recommend that you come to this hotel in a group.

I was here last year. We booked too late and there weren't many hotels available to choose from so we picked this one. The first impression was terrible. We got a ground floor room with 0 sunlight and next to some generators. It took 2 days and extra payment to get a better room. Once we switched, everything was way better. There are some activities on the side of the hotel that we only found out about, on the last day. Everything was fine, the cooks really tried to help us as we have a child that has allergies. The more time we spent here the better it got. What I didn't like is that many parts of the hotel seem to be older and needs renovation. I give it 4/5

Also the hotel is well designed and makes a terrific job in crowd control both on the beach and the restaurants/pools by having huge timeframes and plenty of options available for you 24/7.

We had a lovely time at this hotel, there was 24 of us 6 families, the hotel was lovely and clean, food was lovely. The staff work incredibly hard and go above and beyond. For me the cocktails were disappointing I would have loved a frozen daiquiri. Pool area was extremely busy and we had to be up early to get beds. My room was perfect 7906 was cleaned daily and fridge restocked. I would return here no hesitation

We spent a wonderful vacation here. The resort has a generous space. The entire location is very clean. The palm tree alleys, the impeccable lawn and the architecture of the place contributed to the feeling of comfort, peace and relaxation. The rooms are spacious, clean and equipped with everything necessary. There are two areas with pools. One quieter and the other more lively. Perfect for both adults and children. The food was good, quite diverse and with much more assortments than in other locations. The buffet is constantly stocked. The restaurant is very spacious, with 2 terraces. You can also eat at the two locations near the beach, different from the main restaurant. In addition, you can find something to eat or drink at any time of the day or night. The staff is friendly. Special thanks to Katya from customer relations. She was very helpful. In addition, she is a warm person, always available and attentive to the needs of customers.
