Reviews
Pleasant stay but confused why we paid for all inclusive when we were very limited on what drinks we could have. The drinks we could have had a ridiculous amount of alcohol in them & weren’t drinkable.
Only a few staff were friendly, majority didn’t pay much attention to us.
When we arrived we had no duvet/sheet, so I pulled down the duvets from the cupboard & used them. The fourth day house keeping finally decided to give us one sheet, but not two. They also took away all of our toilet roll, which confused us slightly?
The lifeguard shows absolutely no interest in his job. Sits playing on his phone all day long.
No access to the fridge without paying each day, so we just went to the local shop & got cold water each evening to keep ourselves hydrated.
Minimal entertainment. Most people opt to go out for the evening to find their own. Which is what we did.
The beach is not sandy. This wasn’t a huge deal for us as we found it pleasant to have a walk along the path that runs by side of it in the evening but would have preferred that we could enjoy the sand!
Overall we didn’t have an awful experience. The beds were comfy enough & for two young people on their first couples holiday we were happy enough & able to make the most of it. Wouldn’t stay here again though.
The staff is not helpful at all, very rude towards guests, only the bartenders in the evening at the bar were nice, and that you have to pay for drinks at dinner and lunch
When i need say something about the dinner or breakfast or generally for the food , i need say is NOT GOOD because the food is very international and all the time the same nothing new .... The Greek and Cyprus kitchen are much better but in Anmaria Beach hotel you dont get. The hotel from outside is too dark. The waiters and waitress can smiley a bit more sometime i feel the they hate all guests.
The receptionist are friendly and always with smiles on there face :)
-MUSIC: loud music all day from 10am till 11pm or midnight someday. Even if we close window we can hear loud the music from our room. And everyday same playlist at same moment. At least change playlist!
- FOOD: breakfast is good and lot.of choice with 1 different Cyprus bavery everyday to discover.
The diner are international food, always same things (fries, pasta, mashed potatoe) + something different everydayw. Is lot of choice but not really tasty. Even if we were half board we had to pay for the drinks we want on the table wich was not specified before.
- EMPLOYEES:
The receptionist of the hotel are all very friendly and helpful!! BUT the main restaurant receptionist was very unfriendly , almost never hello just asking room number and moove the head to show the direction to go diner, everyday... Also, the personal in the restaurant are not friendly at all, they all looks like so unhappy, never say hi unless we say to them, often talķing between them or looking at us like they judge or dont like customers in general. Only one waiter was outsanding and amazing, his name was Ahmed very helpful and friendly and smiling. Also the blond lady at the spa is always smilling and nice.
LOCATION: Hotel is well located close to the beach and nice view if you are on the sea/pool side . U can reach central Ayia napa by walk in less than 10min + off licence just outside the hotel open late night.
ACCOMODATION: swimming pool inside and outside great + big gym and spa good as well. But the music in the swimming pool/spa/gym in the basement is the same for all and super loud and everyday same electric playlist. It should be differenr everyday and more relaxing music for the spa....
Apart from the location, the hotel is a huge disappointment and not one I recommend.
From the most unpleasant welcome in reception, disgusting attitude from the food and beverage ladies, poor cleanliness and state of the rooms, terrible smell of the floors from dirty overused water, constant blare of music from 9am till 11pm (same playlist on repeat), you would have a more relaxing holiday checking yourself into a mental institution.
Did I mention the influx of Eastern European drunken neighbours echoing through the walls at 2am.
Do yourself a favour and look for another accommodation. Star ratings go to the xanax taken over the 4 days here.Thank me later
Firstly before we even arrived I emailed the hotel multiple times with a query we had about our upcoming stay and they just ignore you and never get back to you (other guests have also said this has happened to them).
The staff are very rude and have no interest in their guests (apart from one man making the pancakes every morning at breakfast he was so polite and loves to talk to all guests).
The so called lifeguard is the rudest man you’ll ever meet, he just sits there talking to people on his phone while rolling tobacco cigarettes yet he had the audacity to shout at my boyfriend in front of everyone for jumping in the pool even though there were NO signs whatsoever that jumping in the pool was forbidden (just diving - which he didn’t do). He shouted “hey you do you want me to say it in another language” being rude and sarcastic.
You have to pay for wifi and it only works in the room or reception area it doesn’t work by the pool or by the bar so I had to use my mobile data even though I paid for the wifi.
Some days the hotel doesn’t play any music at all around the pool so it’s just complete silence and when they do play music, it’s the same awful depressing cover versions of pop songs on a continuous loop every 5 songs.
There is only entertainment 3 nights a week and it is very short and not very good (it’s either a singer or dancer). It’s so bad that most people tend to go out into Ayia Napa and find their own entertainment, which is what we have done every night as we had no idea how boring the hotel was when we booked which is outrageous considering we have paid all inclusive and we still go out every day spending money
The food is average but not very good at all.
You have to pay for the mini fridge in the hotel room - not just to consume the items inside but to actually unlock the fridge door! So you can’t cool your own food and drink without paying for access to your fridge. You also have to pay for the wifi, safe and bottled water.
The sunbeds are awful and uncomfortable and some are broke.
The hotel is advertised as being ON the soft sand beach when in fact the beach it is on is a rocky beach that is only used for fishing and you have to walk 10 minutes to get to the soft sand beach where you are able to sunbathe and you have to pay for each sun bed.
After being here 2 days we went and inquired about a late check out for in 5 days time because we knew they might not have availability as normal hotel check out time is 12pm and we were getting picked up at 6pm. We were told to come back and check again the next day which we did, just to be told again to come back and check again the day after and this happened every day until the morning we were leaving for them to say there was not ONE room available for us to have for a late check out as our transfer wouldn’t be picking us up for hours. This left us with no room or shower for 6 hours forced to just sit around in reception.
Genuinely the only good thing about this hotel is the pool. A lot of elements of this hotel have been falsely advertised and if we was aware of what it was really like, we would never have booked here. Definitely not a 4* hotel.
While this hotel pretends to be a 4-star, in fact it's way less comfortable than many 3-star hotels. Overall location is more than ok, but the closest beach is unusable if you are not a young sporty person. The closest "typical" beach is in 20-30 min walk.
While you can have free coffee/tea/juice at breakfast, you will have to pay for ANY drink (including water) at dinner.
Loud music is playing all day from 9-10 am even when no one is around. No slippers are provided to guests. Hairdryer is one of these cheapest which is ready to burn itself or your hair and located in a position where you can only use it while sitting. Sink is so tiny in size so you can't wash your face without making a mess around.
I would NOT recommend to say here IF you really expect to have a 4-star hotel service.
Power adaptors can be picked up at the reception for a deposit, some amenities like the Jacuzzi need to be paid for separately. The food was good and slightly different every day.
