Captain Pier Hotel

Its okay, some bad to say , one day pool bar closed early, today one staff member was high and giving his frends drinks before customers and he was not duty, its okay but we have payd 3000€ for this trip and saved 2 years to come here. Some times pool ares is tirdy… sometimes theres no ice for drinks because dont go get it. Food is okay some times very very dry meats.

Sometimes you have to wate very long time to servise.

Rooms are dirty. Today example our room has been cleand but balcany is has left dirty, our sheets and towels has been changes 2 times in 2 weeks. Wee have to clean our selvs.

Couple very good employes Yjans and older (grandpa) that our daugter loves.

Others wise hotel is okay. I just dont like that staff brings frends and family in for free and they go past us hwo has been saving for this 2 years

We spent a week at this hotel in July 2024 and really have mixed impressions.

Staff/service:

When we arrived at the hotel, there was a long queue of people waiting cus their rooms wasn’t ready. Some people waited for over 4 hours. We stood in line for about 40 minutes to get the keys to our room, which fortunately was ready.

Most staff were lovely, polite and always greeted you with a smile. A noticed a few of the staff in the bar/restaurant area that didn’t smile a single time during our visit! The level of service really depends on which person you get. A huge plus to the guy in black Lacoste shirt that always was nice, funny and good with the kids and also to the lovely lady in the pool bar.

We had some bad experience with service, like once the bartender accepted our order and then straight away just left the bar cus his shift ended and 15 minutes later my husband had to make a new order for our drinks.

They have a mini market on entrance floor. We went there once to buy two bottles of water to bring to the beach, and we couldn’t buy them cus they didn’t have a price tag, so we left without water. It’s kind of odd to me to have a market with things you can’t purchase.

The room:

The room was decent, a bit cramped for a double bed plus extra bed for kid, but it worked since we didn’t spend much time in the room. We had a great enjoyable sea view. Comfortable beds and we have nothing to complain about regarding the room.

Food:

We took All Inclusive so we ate breakfast, lunch and most dinners at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast was very basic, but I’m not much of a breakfast eater so it didn’t bother me. Lunch and dinner was also very basic with kind of boring meals to be honest. The pizza wasn’t thoroughly baked so the paste tasted raw. There was options like beans, fish in some kind of sauce (never grilled fresh fish). I would have appreciated more local Mediterranean food instead of food that seemed to be targeting brits and danes. The dessert section was very good with local sweets and many different options including fresh fruits, cakes etc. Overall, the food was okay. Nothing spectacular.

The quality and taste of the cocktails highly depends on who is making them, but most of the time they were alright for an AI.

Location:

The hotel is very close (a few minutes walk) to a small and cosy beach where two sunbeds and one umbrella costs 7.5€ which is reasonable for a whole day. There is plenty of restaurants, pubs and super markets in the area but not so much shopping. Generally calm area. There is a pharmacy nearby which is open til 22.

Pool area:

The pool area is kind of small, and the main bar is usually quite busy. The pool bar less busy. The pool is relatively large with a separate kids pool. There is a playground upstairs and plenty of sunbeds without shade. Pool got cramped in the afternoons.

Cleaning:
The cleaning was the worst part of our visit. I think we got our room cleaned 3 times tops, I had to go to the reception for both shower soap refill and for new towels. They didn’t clean well, there was sand and hair from previous guests in the corner of the bathroom. We got new sheets once and new towels once, except when I had to go and chase them. One day the cleaning staff knocked at our door just as we were about to get dressed and go to the beach. We kindly asked for a minute to get dressed and get going, and we were literally out of the room within the minute and the cleaning staff just ignored our room so it didn’t get cleaned at all. Completely unacceptable.

Our visit had both ups and downs but unfortunately mostly downs and I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We arrived in October, at 7 p.m., no one at the reception and bar, I found one man who called another man to go to the reception, we got room, the view from the room was 2 single beds pushed together without a mattress, only two separate ones, viewing the room, exit to the balcony and the air conditioning sensor from the balcony door falls on my head, we go downstairs and we can't communicate with the receptionist in English, finally we agreed that he would check it, after 20 minutes we got a new room, the fridge was too smelly, the tiles in the bathroom were falling off, a trash can with broken a cover that falls down and makes a lot of noise, no flap on the light switch, daily cleaning only for making the bed, swept once every 7 days, repetitive meals, people who are not cooks serve dry meals, inedible like beef or pork, ribs was a trap couldnt bite, 1 pizza sliced heated for 3 days, baked beans poured with water, hot dogs in water for several days, all wrinkled, small buffet, coffee machines are breaking down, no one is around, water is leaking from the juice machines, not keeping to dinner schedule, children's game machines do not work, there are various things to clean the pool near the swimming pool bar, electric grids for light with cables on top - risk of shock, playground with a petrol lawnmower in the corner, a pipe for watering the grass runs through the middle, trip. Hazard, 6th floor entire roof open, risk of fall, and on the 6th floor in front of the elevator I saw an open room with a warehouse for towels and sheets and everything needed in the hotel, as well as equipment for the shop located downstairs, full of empty bottles. alcohol, the owner's brother is an alcoholic who drinks every day at the pool bar, in very bad condition, dirty, staggers, green pool floor, we meet the owner for the last night, he offers us chocolate cake, he boasts in photos that he works with people in the Senate of the Parliament, he tells us what we think about hotel and then says that everything is temporary, he sits at my table and tells my life stories, everything is so amazing that I can't believe it, what is this hotel about, gym on the first floor, 4 dumbbells and 7 machines, no bars, chest benches,
