Modern, 306 room hotel, located directly on river Rhine in Cologne-Deutz, offering a spectacular view of the famous Gothic Cathedral of Cologne and the old city. The hotel features Regency Club, 2 restaurants, 2 lounges and bars, a health club, indoor swimming pool and extensive meeting facilities. Many of the spacious guest rooms overlook the Rhine, Cathedral and the old city. Opened in May of 1988. The hotel has 6 floors.

nice people, but hotel little old

The room is better than expected, and the facilities are well maintained. Before checking in, I wondered if this hotel was very old, after all, it has been open for so long. I didn't expect it to be so good. The bathroom is also very large, and the bathtub and shower are separate.

The hotel is in a very good location, right by the river, and you can see the iconic church when you go out, which is especially beautiful at sunset. It is worth noting that if you get off at Cologne Central Station, you need to walk to the hotel from the bridge, but this also brings an advantage, that is, quietness and safety. You must know that the area near the train station is always full of dirt and crime.
The hotel's service meets the standard five-star requirements, and the staff is enthusiastic and professional. The room is spacious and bright, and the hygiene is also no problem. The TV in the room is quite large, and it can be connected to the mobile phone for screen projection, which can be said to be very enjoyable. The dining environment for breakfast is very good, and the food is rich and delicious.

Hyatt delivers, and as always this is not an expectation. The building and facilities are phenomenal. Our room (king bed) was looking slightly dated but not in bad shape at all, and overall it was large and comfortable.
We were kindly offered a very early check-in (I know this is subject to availability), however this was very appreciated as we arrived after a travel day and were very tired. The staff we dealt with were all kind and welcoming.
The amenities are great, and the hotel is in a good central location. I would happily come again.

Older hotel. Rooms need some upgrades. Bathroom sink and shower have 2 separate knobs for hot and cold water, which I think is inconvenient. The knobs in the tub shower need to be turned in different directions startling with either scalding hot or freezing cold water. Air conditioning was not that great either. It took well past midnight to get the room cooled down enough to sleep, for both the nights we stayed there. Otherwise, clean and tidy room.
However, the location was a big plus. Right across the cologne cathedral, on the Rhine river, with great views of the Cologne city and the cathedral. We enjoyed a glass of hot chocolate in their Sticky Fingers restaurant while savoring the view of the beautiful cathedral. Have to cross the river on the bridge to get to the other side of the city where the Christmas markets are.

We came here with our 10 month old for a few days after a river cruise. Luckily for us, they were able to check us in very early. They provide a solid wood crib with an appropriate mattress and covers. They also provided a nice stokke high chair for breakfast. We had a handicapped room which gave some more room in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the service was great. I’m really impressed by our stay.

Stayed at Hyatt Köln after Christmas during the new years 2024 it was an amazing experience! Specious rooms and facilities. We had an early check-in. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom with a bathtub.
We loved the breakfast with a breathtaking view - had so many different food options. Staff are very nice and helpful. Has a bar and couple of restaurants which are very peaceful and nice.
If you book a room facing Köln cathedral your experience is going to be more interesting. Fireworks during the night was fantastic and you get a good view from the hotel floors. We loved our experience in sauna, steam room, cold plunge, swimming pool and jacuzzi. There is a good size gym.
Cross the bridge to explore the old town. Direct train to the airport.

The Hyatt Regency’s location is undoubtedly fantastic, with easy walking access to the Christmas markets and the cathedral, making it an ideal spot for tourists. However, our experience from start to finish left much to be desired which was such a shame as it was so beautiful inside reception!
Sadly we felt unwelcome throughout our stay, seemingly because we were younger than the typical clientele. This became particularly apparent as we waited for a taxi in the reception area, where we noticed disconcerting looks and sensed a difference in how we were treated compared to older guests.
The rooms were extremely outdated, especially considering the price point. The air conditioning didn’t work properly, leaving the room feeling dusty, and the lack of a main light coupled with a small window made the space uncomfortably dark. The bathroom was similarly outdated, and we were surprised at the lack of modern touches you’d expect from a hotel of this standard.
Breakfast was another disappointment. Despite arriving at 10:00 am—well before the advertised end time of 10:30—we were told we only had 15 minutes to eat. To make matters worse, we were rushed into ordering drinks before we even had a chance to settle at our table.
Overall, while the location is hard to fault, the dated rooms, lack of hospitality, and poor breakfast experience make it difficult to recommend considering the price point

Location is amazing. The proximity to the cathedral, trains and shopping is great. Our first room had quite a bit of mold in the shower. Photos are attached. We were then offered a different room. The new room also had plenty of mold in the shower and also had a door adjoining to another room. The next room was quite dusty as well. Disappointing overall and regretful of my hotel choice this time around.
