Reviews
I don't even know where to begin with my disastrous stay at Star G, but I can confidently say this was the worst hotel experience of my life--and possibly one of the worst decisions I've ever made.
Let's start with the health hazard: mold. Within hours, I started experiencing symptoms--headaches, sinus pressure, and coughing--that continued not only during my stay but well into the weeks after I left. My vacation was ruined, my health was compromised, and this hotel is 100% to blame.
When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I was met with *disbelief* and *defensiveness*. They denied any mold issues outright--despite the fact that a quick Google search revealed at least **12 other public reviews** complaining about the same thing! Their dismissive, rude attitude made it clear they care more about dodging accountability than addressing a serious problem that puts their guests at risk.
This wasn't just a bad stay; this was an outright health violation. The fact that management would rather gaslight their guests than take responsibility is beyond reprehensible. It's abundantly clear this hotel has no interest in basic maintenance, much less ensuring guest safety.
Do yourself a favor: read the other mold complaints, trust them, and *stay far, far away*. There are plenty of places to stay that won't leave you sick and frustrated. Star G is a health hazard, plain and simple, and the only thing worse than the mold was the appalling way they handled my complaint.
One star is too generous.
Good value for money.
Make sure that if you call to change the reservation you get a new booking number. I called and the gentleman I spoke with said it was booked. When I asked if I needed anything else he said it was fine. Just use the same number. When we arrived the extension was not booked. Luckily there was a room available.
Very close to the city center without having to be in the middle of the madness. In one direction you have the bus and in the other the tram.
Not a lot of options for food unfortunately. They sell the usual flammkuchen and soup in the hotel. A few blocks away there are options. It’s not entirely unreachable but it certainly can feel like it if you’ve had a very long day.
Breakfast was decent if not worth the €16 they charge for it in my opinion. Things like the cheese and meat being sliced and plated the evening before then refrigerated. That’s not a problem usually but all of the cheese and meat were stuck together like it had been refrigerated but not wrapped.
We ate there the first morning and stopped by McDonald’s on the way out the next morning. We were hoping for a sit down breakfast but could not find one within 5 miles. I guess Munich doesn’t believe in breakfast? The only food options open at 0900 were a sushi place and a donor shop.
The rooms are comfortable. I’m not sure if it’s all rooms but our room had only one plug on the wall where the headboard was. I’m sure that’s not a problem for most people since there were plugs to charge in front of the tv but we both use sleep machines. It was interesting trying to maneuver the power plugs to not trip over them if I got up in the middle of the night. You only get one door for the toilet and the shower. It’s a sliding glass barn door setup which is fine but it slides between those 2 extensions. That means you can close one or the other. So either privacy while on the toilet or keeping the door closed in the shower for warmth. You only get one option if there are two people in the room.
It’s not a bad place but it does have its eccentricities. It’s a good place if you’re hitting the Allianz stadium.
Thanks alot
I stay there often as it is close to my office, the internet is ok but often it is lagging on video calls, street parking is available for free on the main street, in winter the rooms are a bit cold.
service should improve
