Reviews
The car park for my motorcycle was perfect.
Room in perfect state. Bed super comfy. I would definitely come back again
I stayed in Hotel Antares for 5 nights while on a work trip in late October 2022. My employer made the reservation. My husband and I were given a noisy room next to a construction project that started around 7 am every morning including Saturday. The room and bed cover were too warm (a cover sheet would have been nice), so we had to leave our window cracked. You can imagine we didn’t get much sleep. And after my husband left an honest, well rounded (not scathing) review after day 2, the manager-owner stopped us at the reception to essentially tell my husband he had no right to leave a review. Isn’t Germany a free country??? He also told us the windows are sound proof—apparently the noise was our fault because we left the windows open—and that he couldn’t move us to another room because it was Sunday the next day (we were leaving on Monday). In the end, he suggested we leave if we don’t like it. Wow! Unfortunately, we had to stay because the room had already been paid by my employer. In my 20+ years of regular travel, this is by far one of the worst examples of customer service and professionalism I have encountered in the hospitality industry. Don’t take my word for it. Read his responses to low ratings to make a more informed decision about how this hotel is run.
Other information: the bathrooms are updated and rooms are clean. But the beds are not comfortable, and the furnishings are tired. The breakfast is just ok. The breakfast buffet is missing serving trays so you end up crouching into a pit to get your food. Small changes would go a long way in improving the guest experience.
Breakfasts were amazing 😍🤩😍🤩 there was everything in there. Service was also very kind and polite, they even had umbrella rent (very useful).
Maybe just a mattress was very-very soft, not so comfortable for me, but it is my personal preference.
Situated In the middle of the old city centre, very central and easy to go places.
The rooms are basic, but the quality was great. The bed and shower were very comfortable, the room was super clean.
The staff was nice and helpful (front desk and restaurant staff too).
I had a quick breakfast due to time limitations, but the options were fresh and diverse.
If I have to stay in the city again, this hotel is definitely a good option!
The website is accurate for the room descriptions - make sure you read them! The rooms were furnished with everything we needed and they were clean.
Down to 1 star following the hotel's reaction. They know full well that had we not left when we did, we would have gotten stuck for 2 more days at least due to the strike. From the hotel's point of view, this obviously would have been preferable....
