Why is it so difficult for Estonians to be nice and polite when in customer service? Anyway the spa was small but nice with four hot tubs and one bigger pool. There were four saunas, they were okay. Slight minus not to be able to have drink in the pool, but some people still did it, even signs everywhere. Room was a not new anymore and it didn't smell fresh, but we had "romantic" room so we had chocolates and sparkling wine waiting in our room decorated with the rose pedals

The room was extremely hot and had bad ventilation and smelled like sewage. They let me have another room the next day after I insisted on it, but the ventilation was only slightly better. The bathroom in the other room still smelled a bit like sewage.

Very much below our expectations. Small rooms with no feeling of hospitality. Not enough lights and bad placement of furniture. Small and uncomfortable shower and toilet. No view and the windows won’t even open. Good location in the center of the city though.

The location is perfect, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. However, don’t pay extra for the breakfast. It’s extremely overpriced, there’s practically no option and the food is so blend. The ventilation is quite poor and the room gets very warm at night.

The hotel's location is great and surprisingly quiet, but unfortunately that's where the pleasantries end. We were greeted with an empty lobby and a grumpy-seeming person at the reception. As a Finn, I'm very understanding (and appreciative) of people not doing the chit-chat of "how was your day", "was the trip pleasant" and such—but I would still very much appreciate a smile, happy greeting or even just any positive acknowledgement pointed towards us. But perhaps that's just me.

We did not get any info about the room, about the schedule of the breakfast or anything that could be considered "extra" or such customer service pleasantries.

The first room we got smelled of cat urine, especially in the bathroom. Okay, these things happen. Without any apologisies—or any spoken words besides "okay"—we got a new room. The new room was better and void of any bad smells, but it was quite barren, with not even a stool to lay your suitcase on. Two chairs, one small table. Plenty of echo.

Despite how advertised on the listing, the room did not have an air conditioner, nor did it have a safe. The view was just an empty tunnel with other rooms as windows (see picture). The room was luckily clean, but we didn't get any warm water at all, so taking a shower was not quite the pleasure I had hoped for after a long day of sightseeing. The curtains did not cover the whole window, and let through light from the lobby to the room all night long.

Breakfast was quite disappointing. The options were as basic as one can have, with no fresh fruits and yesterday's wilted vegetables. The boiled eggs were old as well, with darkened circles around the yolk.

Overall I would've forgiven one or two shortcomings, but the overall experience (and especially the lack of hot water) forced me to bring my review to mere two stars.

There’s nothing in this hotel except the location. The rooms are too hot, without ventilation. People at the reception - except one kind woman - were disinterested, rude and unwelcoming. Breakfast is okayish. You have to ask for everything separately - kettle, glasses, toiletries etc. Walls are thin as wafers and you can hear your neighbours.

Dont book through travel agent, but go to their website. I got a satisfying discounts when I booked on their website. Thanks!
My breakfast experience is remarkable here, 'you get much more than what you pay'. compare to other hotels in nordic or baltic region, worth it.
Yeah their location is just like 'hidden gem'.
Wish they could improve room sounds insulation. I heard much noisy from next door or corridor.

Please smile and welcome your guests, say (good morning, good evening, hello, sorry , thanks, please , etc.),
Please ask politely about the room number for the breakfast. charge me while the check out, if it is not included (it was included in my case and I paid in advance for it but I had to run to the reception again for a proof of confirmation!). But saying put back your plate until the waitrss check the room number is not anything acceptable.
Making the bed and changing the towels were nice but never got the bed sheets changed the whole stay.
More variety for the breakfast and drinks would be great as well.
Thanks!

We had an excellent stay! The room was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and sauna area, which included a nice bar with many alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices.

The staff spoke excellent English and were always helpful.

We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There was something for everyone from pancakes to mixed vegetables, ham and cheese, breads, a variety of juices and good hot chocolate.

I will readily recommend this hotel to friends and family!

The Metropol Hotel in Tallinn not only boasts an excellent location but also offers a satisfying breakfast experience. Within a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport, costing around 10 EUR even during rush hour, and just a 10-minute walk from the harbor, it's exceptionally convenient. The proximity to the popular Old Town, reachable in less than 10 minutes, adds to its appeal. While the rooms are clean, a notable downside is the poor sound isolation between rooms—conversations in neighboring rooms are easily audible, especially in the WC area. However, the breakfast, although lacking shrimps and salmon common in Finnish hotels, presents a tasty standard Scandinavian spread featuring herring and sprats. Despite this minor shortfall, the hotel offers a fair balance between price and value, making it a reasonable choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience in Tallinn.
