I stayed at Cristol Via Castellana during the Christmas holiday for 4 nights.
I came from the airport by train and reached Chamartin station which is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, or 1 bus or metro stop away. From the hotel the super efficient network of buses and metros will take you anywhere around Madrid, which was very convenient.
I was in a room on the top floor with a great view on Plaza Castellana and on the mountains too. Great room with nice, large beds. I slept very well.
Friendly staff, always ready to help.
I did not try the breakfast or the restaurant.
Apart from the dining area, the hotel does not have any feature like a gym room, sauna, or a pool.
Strongly recommend if you are looking for a safe, reliable place to stay, away from the busy streets of the city center.

Such a worst experience, i am not a guest in this hotel, but i called to check whether the breakfast is open for public, the staff confirmed that its open and for public and provided price too. Next day morning when we showed up the staff denied saying its only for the guests. Why so irresponsible? Staffs are not clear on policies or the staffs randomly decide based on their wish? My time to reach hotel is wasted.

stayed there for 2 nights and was very happy to check out this hotel. small room, poor sound insulation and the management has no empthay towards their paying guests. despite of the poor sound insulation, they allowed a function playing throbbing drum beats late till 12 midnight. thereafter, one can hear staff dragging the furniture across the room.. not to mention a dump truck was parked downstairs at 1am to clear rubbish and creating lots of noise.

rooms are jaded despite being told recent renovation was done.

toilet is moldy and the smell of constant usage linger on.

hot water in shower was intermittent, can suddenly turned cold or hot at it wished. the good thing is its good pressure.

breakfast was so so.. staff looked stress and no smiles whatsoever.

location is superby, with supermarkets and eateries short distances away.

otherwise, pls avoid this hotel at all cost.

This is not a 4 star hotel. I stayed 1 night for business due to close proximity to my company's Madrid office. The very small, low bed was very uncomfortable and inadequate for a 6 ft tall woman, with springs felt below the surface. The wifi kept giving me an error, and when I tried to call reception, the phone did not work. I had to call from my cell phone to get a code for guest wifi, and to add to the absurdity, I was given one small towel. The TV did not have Netflix or any other movie channels, nor could I cast from my phone to stream. I will not be staying here again. When a single woman travels, quite often this happens. The pictures look nothing like the room on the 9th floor that I was given. Shame I need to travel monthly to Madrid.

Good clean spacious room. Arrived by bus number 27 from the railway station,, which was a 10 minute walk to our stop by the Botanical gardens, about 22stops to reach our hotel. An overfilled rubbish bin greeted us in the lobby which we complained about.

Javier and the team were very helpful and supportive with advice on local eating establishments and places of interest.

There was a little confusion and frustration when I wanted to extend my room to another day as this can only be done by going back into the website booking page even though I was at reception.
They were sweet but the additional night booking system was frustrating and time consuming after a long journey.

Very dated looking hotel. The pictures online make it a much nicer than in reality. The rooms were renovated with poor workmanship. Corridors and walkways are very dated with chipped away paint. No drink facilities such as tea and coffee in the room, which is very unusual with 4 star hotels

Spent a night in this hotel on the fifth floor and someone entered the room where me and my colleague are staying without permission.
We asked the front desk about this situation and they refused to admit that there is anyone entering.
Horrible experience and did not feel safe.

One of the worst hotels I can remember at its price point (250 EUR per night). Very outdated and in dire need of a refresh, not to mention it took over 15 minutes to check in. The breakfast buffet was very poor, with low quality food and even worse coffee. The shower kept changing water temperature from scorching hot to freezing on its own will.
The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast orange juice.

The room I was in was super tiny and for the price I paid, I would have actually preferred staying at an Ibis…. Upon checking the floormap on my door, I quickly realised that this was the smallest of the lot. The room was part of what can become a “suite” by connecting all rooms together.

Whilst the room was small and dated (like the hotel in general) it was kept immaculate and I do value cleanliness so kudos to them for that.

The breakfast was good overall and had a fair amount of choices. The coffee on the other hand wasn’t great.

TIP: when you check in, if your room number has an A, B or C at the end, you know you’ll be in the smallest rooms the hotel has to offer.

When I return to Madrid I’ll probably stay somewhere else
