First of all, the location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the Prado Museum and a 10-minute walk from Puerta del Sol, which is commendable. Fair to say, the hotel is really good overall. However, considering it's a 5-star hotel, it's not that good. Staff at the reception look very serious and not friendly or welcoming. Upon entering the room you'll notice that the room is bright and airy.  There is wooden floors throughout with a large circular rug.  The entry area has an extra door from the main room to provide more sound barrier. Unfortunately mine would not stay closed. My room was located on the 8th floor near the end of the hallway. I was given two twin beds but the room is very large and not cramped at all...

I along with a group of nine fellow travelers stayed at the Melia Madrid Princesa during Spain's power outage on April 28, 2025. We returned to the hotel in the evening from our tour that day to find the hotel had emergency lighting, one elevator working AND offered a limited dinner menu with cooked food at the lobby bar along with tables set for dinner around the lobby. Lobby looks nice, rooms outdated and bad finishes. Noisy windows. Between rooms not much noise. Shower is good. Swimming pool very limited opening times (from 11am to 9pm) and you have to make a reservation for a 45min time period. Its always full at the times you would like to swim (morning or evening). Was greeted by friendly and welcoming staff that provided me with a map and personal take on the nearby attractions to see. This is a lovely hotel situated in a great location for the metro and to walk to shops in Gran Vía. Just over 10 minutes walk to the Thyssen Bornemisza museum. We stayed for our last 2 nights in Madrid. Upon arrival they offered us an "upgrade" for $50 per night to a room with a room with a street balcony instead of a couryard, which honestly I don't think was worth it. Bathroom is tight, toilet seat and shower drain were kind of broken. The main floor lobby and bar were nice!

This is the perfect location for exploring Madrid. Everything is walking distance (and there are multiple public transport options if not). The rooms are spacious and perfectly clean. Near Gran Via main street of Madrid. Large room. Clean, sufficient amenities. No windows. It was like a maze to find room. Breakfast was so-so. Booked a double room but got a twin room. Stayed in April 2023

The shower in room 230 was broken, and water would spray everywhere in the bathroom. The basic room was very small, and there was no 25 square meters as claimed, and the 30-inch suitcase could not be opened.

The location is excellent, but other than that there is nothing special about it. The hotel room is relatively small. It feels like it is almost impossible to check in with a 30-inch suitcase without 25 square meters.

The location of this hotel was very good and you are essentially just paying for that. Stayed here for two nights during off season. Paid $270 per night. For a 4 star hotel, I was disappointed with the instant coffee in the room. I also requested room cleaning at noon and when I returned at 6 p.m. it still was not complete. The front desk service was fast. The room was clean although a bit old. I didn't try the breakfast. It was interesting to stand on the bus to the airport.

There are no slippers in the room, no free drinking water, no kettle, only sparkling water and Coke Sprite in the refrigerator, the service is very poor, the room service ordered a bottle of mineral water and it was delivered to the wrong place twice. The room rate does not include the morning, and the airport shuttle runs every 40 minutes. In short, everything is not satisfactory, not worth the price...

The hotel facilities are very good, the rooms are very big, the things you use are very good, there is a shuttle bus to the airport, but if you are a light sleeper, you should not choose a room facing the street as it is a bit noisy!

Great staff and very attentive. They were able to get us reservation with Botin on a short notice, they went even beyond that. Got us a reservation to a flamingo on the same day. Room was constantly cleaned and they welcomed us with a bottle of wine and Ham.

It was a very pleasant stay at Gran Meliá Fenix Overall due to extremely friendly services and staff. We booked a red level with a whirlpool in terrace, which cost approximately 600€ a night. When checking in the room, we were disappointed at the facilities and a small size of the room since it says 53sqm, which includes terrace. The location is excellent, with walks to the best shopping in Madrid. The Martini bar and restaurant is an interesting concept that blends a cozy lounge with sharp, clean Martini shaking bar. Give a try and receive a certificate of the exact number Martini made since they did their first 9 years ago and started to keep count. Mine was 48,834. I'm sure they will 50 K soon.

It is a bit far from the city center, but there are some bus stops conveniently located near the hotel. Also, there is also a Carrefour Express about a 5-minute walk. We stayed in a room with a river view and it was amazing. The area around the hotel was safe and we were able to take a walk even after sunset.

Good location, friendly staff, price is a bit high for the facilities but it’s a good place for short stays where you want to be near Campo and the city. It's located near the airport, so it's good for a one-night stay. Free airport pick-up is also available, which is convenient. However, the soundproofing is not so good, so you can hear people talking in the hallway and the water in the bathroom flushing. The shower hose may be broken and water is leaking through the hose.
