Great staff and very attentive. They were able to get us reservation with Botin on a short notice, they went even beyond that. Got us a reservation to a flamingo on the same day. Room was constantly cleaned and they welcomed us with a bottle of wine and Ham.

It was a very pleasant stay at Gran Meliá Fenix Overall due to extremely friendly services and staff. We booked a red level with a whirlpool in terrace, which cost approximately 600€ a night. When checking in the room, we were disappointed at the facilities and a small size of the room since it says 53sqm, which includes terrace. The bathroom had a tiny bath, which would be better to be a big modern...

The location is excellent, with walks to the best shopping in Madrid. The Martini bar and restaurant is an interesting concept that blends a cozy lounge with sharp, clean Martini shaking bar. Give a try and receive a certificate of the exact number Martini made since they did their first 9 years ago and started to keep count. Mine was 48,834. I'm sure they will 50 K soon.

Catalonia Plaza Mayor was the perfect location for us. We were able to walk to so many places. Wonderful sites near by—Plaza Mayor and Plaza Santa Ana were lovely and near the hotel. I stayed here for five days and loved it! Very quiet room, had all the amenities I could want, the staff was super friendly, they offered free early check in / check out / and room upgrade just by joining their rewards program. Great location and price for this modern and moderately-priced hotel. It is within walking distance of most sights, especially the museums! For further destination, the Anton Martin metro station is a block away. The staff is all very professional. Location is pretty good. About 10-15 min walk to center of everything. Rooms are small, even the deluxe ones. The hotel is in a great location as it's on the gran via. There are 3 metro station near by making it easy to get around the city. Loads of bars and restaurants a few minutes walk away from the hotel.

Enjoyed our 5 night stay. Good buffet breakfast. The roof top pool was very crowded. We learned later that many pool users paid for day passes which precludes Axel guests from getting lounge chairs. This hotel is very well kept, the staff is very helpful and friendly and the location is great. We were able to walk to many restaurants and shops, and were able to take the metro down to the museums. The breakfast buffet was by far the best we have had in our years of travel, and mimosas included, nice touch!

The rooms are big and clean, well equipped. Location and service is great. Good breakfast. But the windows are not sound proofing ( in a very busy and noisy area) , blinds are not installed well, and the bed is harder than usual, all this made it very hard to sleep for me and my family. Therefore I can’t give it 5 stars.
