Melia Castilla Hotel
Madrid, Calle del Poeta Joan Maragall, 43 🧭 Map
Spa facilities: Massage, Spa and wellness centre
Facilities: Very nice and new, near a high-end hotel.
Service: The front desk spoke good English and was very quick.
Environment: The environment was very nice, and the hotel's decor was very upscale and elegant.
Cleanliness: Cleaned daily.
Breakfast: Very good, delicious, and plentiful.
However, there were unexplained deductions.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel has a beautiful pool and a decent gym workout room. The beds are a bit soft - would prefer firmer.
Would have been better if security guard didn’t stop me and grill me about whether I was a guest or not. Said they mistook me for someone else. Spoiled the experience of feeling welcomed. Happens I suppose.
We truly enjoyed our stay. We recommend this hotel to anyone that enjoys a nice swim and more relaxed stay. Staff were very kind and overall experience was great. Rooms are nice and showers are amazing.
Excellent hotel, wonderful food, so clean, staff very helpful & friendly…would highly recommend…the breakfast was amazing!
The room is clean and tidy, the service is warm and thoughtful, and it is not far from the Bernabéu, which is quite convenient. It is more suitable for business travel.

Great experience at the Palace.
Even if I only stayed one night, it was very pleasant.
Location is great and the hotel has all the amenities you could need.
The staff is friendly and the room is amazing
100% will return
First of all, the location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the Prado Museum and a 10-minute walk from Puerta del Sol, which is commendable. However, the room smelled strongly after renovations. The hotel also insisted on charging an extra €55 for bringing my daughter, who's under 11. This is incomprehensible. We've traveled all the way from Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Madrid...

The environment is very clean and comfortable, and the attitude of the front desk staff is also very good. I highly recommend staying here!
The maid who cleans the room every day works hard and the service is good. Excellent! On the other hand, I went to the breakfast hall every morning, but the receptionist was so uninterested in his work that I couldn't remember his name even though I met him every morning for 7 days, and he had no hospitality, so I felt bad every morning. A real 5* experience just outside of the center. Due to its location, often booked by conference or other groups, which gives the usual tourist guest a bit of an overwhelming feeling. The reception is understaffed to my opinion, expect to queue and wait your turn. Nothing about the service though, the whole team is very friendly and accommodating. I had the pleasure of staying at Eurostars Madrid Tower for two nights, and I must say the experience was truly exceptional. The staff were incredibly professional, kind, and attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable even changing my room twice due to an issue with the AC, and that too at 3 AM without hesitation. Welcoming, relaxed and excellent amenities. Great breakfast.
We chose the hotel because it’s close to our friend’s house. The hotel is good, we wanted to try the spa, but it was not available during our stay.
The hotel is not far from the metro station, very accessible to go anyway. It's not in the city centre, but as mentioned very accessible. Breakfast is amazing, it has everything you could imagine, and also has special food that is kid friendly. The rooms are spacious, have water, tea, and coffee provided in the room. Really lovely stay.
Great location, great lobby and cafe / terrace, lots of restaurants around.
Hotel was nice with a great pool and gym. However, manpower may be terribly short handed at times and resulting in blunders, such as charging twice on my credit card for the room.
Nice and spacious room. 8 to 10mins walk to metro station which is convenient to explore the city centre.

Melia Madrid Princesa is a fantastic choice for families who want comfort, convenience, and great service in the heart of Madrid. We upgraded our room and took full advantage of the free breakfast and daily tapas in The Level lounge—an absolute game-changer with kids. It meant fewer frantic restaurant searches and more time relaxing.
The service throughout the stay was exceptional. Thoughtful touches...
They are currently doing construction and gave me a room that is exactly where they are working outside. It is so loud, you cannot have a conversation. You would think they would not book the rooms in the same area as construction? They did offer to move me, but said it will stop in 1 hour. Went to use the gym but it is also closed for 4 hours due to being painted. No alternate location provided...
I along with a group of nine fellow travelers stayed at the Melia Madrid Princesa during Spain's power outage on April 28, 2025. Most restaurants were closed...
Very nice reception, very patient
Lobby looks nice, rooms outdated and bad finishes. Noisy windows. Between rooms not much noise. Shower is good. Swimming pool very limited opening times (from 11am to 9pm) and you have to make a reservation for a 45min time period. Its always full at the times you would like to swim (morning or evening). Useless. Service is fine.
Very good hotel with an amazing breakfast buffet which fs large and varied. Great staff and location.

Great service! The room with a terrace and street view on the 7th floor is very good. Free club drinks and food, delicious! The old gentleman in the club is very cute! The front desk gentleman even drew a suitcase for me to communicate with because of the language barrier, haha
Great location. Relaxed and personable environment. The staff really cares that the guests have a good experience in the hotel and in Madrid. My room was comfortable and elegantly appointed.

Excellent location, very convenient for getting around. At the front desk, I paid for an upgrade to a premium room and was assigned one on the top floor. Good service nice location , luxury
Nice environment and nice location
The location of the hotel is OK, but the room is very average, not very big, more than 9,000 a night, not even including breakfast, not worth it. Next time I come to Madrid, I will choose the JW Marriott opposite, just across the street.
Excellent ! Exception service by staff !!
The location is very nice, in a very central place, the cleanliness and facilities are very good, there are deficiencies in the rooms but they are completed if desired. The quality is indisputable.

The front desk service was fast. The room was clean although a bit old. I didn't try the breakfast. It was interesting to stand on the bus to the airport.
There are no slippers in the room, no free drinking water, no kettle, only sparkling water and Coke Sprite in the refrigerator, the service is very poor, the room service ordered a bottle of mineral water and it was delivered to the wrong place twice. The room rate does not include the morning, and the airport shuttle runs every 40 minutes. In short, everything is not satisfactory, not worth the price...
The hotel facilities are very good, the rooms are very big, the things you use are very good, there is a shuttle bus to the airport, but if you are a light sleeper, you should not choose a room facing the street as it is a bit noisy!
Near the airport. Good shuttle service.
Great value price for Madrid
The hotel is in an excellent location, just a 20-minute walk from Madrid Airport, and the hotel can book rooms without breakfast. The parking lot is also large and parking is very convenient.

One of the best experiences we've had in Madrid. The staff was very nice (particularly Yana, who went out of her way to make sure our family was comfortable). Lovely hotel by the river. We had a superior room with an enormous comfy bed which included a really good buffet breakfast with plenty of hot and cold choices. Good position for sightseeing within easy reach either by walking or bus stop outside. Staff were very friendly but not many spoke English.
Very friendly staff, ready to solve any problem. Standard equipped rooms, but without tea/coffee in the room, no slippers. Breakfast with multiple options. Location quite far from the center/metro, at least 20 min walk, connection with buses but which run infrequently/unpredictably. Accessible by foot to the royal palace, real basilica del San Francisco el Grande!
Husband, wife, and 2 Yr old shared the comfy large bed for 2 well rested night. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast bar immensely. The location was great, as it was along the river and had a bus stop outside. We will defo stay again.
Big room, nice pool and nice reception, plenty of parking out side and a lively mini park, the location is amazing and quiet, you literally can walk to the palace in 15-20 minutes.
The covered parking is over priced (26 euro a night!) the breakfast must be bought with the room as buying it at the restaurant is expensive and the breakfast it self closes at 10:30 !!
Hotels' location was perfect lots to do around the hotel and good transport connections into madrid centre, the breakfast was not up to standard some food had mold on and when a server was prompted they seemed very blasé about it like it was a normal occurrence I also heard another guest complain that the yoghurt was out of date and they were met with the same response. Excellent option for a short stay, close to everything, very nice hotel
Near Gran Via main street of Madrid. Large room. Clean, sufficient amenities.
No windows. It was like a maze to find room. Breakfast was so-so. Booked a double room but got a twin room.
Stayed in April 2023
The shower in room 230 was broken, and water would spray everywhere in the bathroom. The basic room was very small, and there was no 25 square meters as claimed, and the 30-inch suitcase could not be opened.
The location is excellent, but other than that there is nothing special about it. The hotel room is relatively small. It feels like it is almost impossible to check in with a 30-inch suitcase without 25 square meters.
The location of this hotel was very good and you are essentially just paying for that. Stayed here for two nights during off season. Paid $270 per night.
