Mercure Centro Mini-hotel

We booked the hotel for a three-day city trip. The hotel is very centrally located, which was the most important booking criterion for us. Museums, parks, restaurants and major sights were within walking distance.

The staff were very reactive and uncooperative when we contacted them - even though we always received an answer, it was given in a listless and reluctant manner. At check-in we asked for a
better room. This was refused - the hotel was fully booked. However, when we looked on booking portals, there were other rooms available. That seemed strange. When we checked out, nobody was interested in how we found our stay. We were therefore unable to make our feedback directly. We were not even asked.

The rooms are very simply furnished and partly in a worn condition. The hooks for the towels almost fell in my face when I was using them and the cupboards are very loud when opened. Another weakness is the background noise. The rooms have no insulation. At night we were repeatedly woken up by our neighbors when they showered, drew curtains or moved suitcases. The whole thing was exacerbated by doors slamming again and again. It gives the impression that the rooms urgently need to be renovated.

Due to our many trips, we were able to stay in several Accorhotels. The price/performance ratio was the worst here.

Even though the location is very good, I cannot recommend this hotel.

As an Accor Gold member, my experience at this hotel was nothing short of disastrous, and it will be my first and last stay there. I discovered insects in the bed, which was both shocking and revolting. I documented the issue with photos and videos to show the hotel staff, but their response was underwhelming. The discomfort didn't end there; I felt itchy and developed a rash that lingered for days as a result of the infestation. I requested full refund from hotel however, they rejected my request.

Despite reaching out to Accor to express my concerns, my complaints were met with silence. It’s disheartening to feel ignored, especially after being a loyal member. This experience not only ruined my stay but also left me questioning the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and guest well-being. I urge potential guests to think twice before booking here. The lack of proper hygiene and the disregard for customer feedback are major red flags. No one should have to endure such an unpleasant experience, especially when staying at a hotel that claims to uphold high standards. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different place to stay; there are certainly better options out there.

Really dirty. Mercure hotels are usually reliable but not this time.
