When staying at the NH Madrid Nacional hotel, you will be in a privileged location on Paseo del Prado and steps away from Madrid’s Art Triangle. The Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia museums are right by the hotel. The 1920s building was designed by the famous architect Modesto López Otero and is located across the street from the Atocha train station. This means it provides excellent links to everywhere in the city, including the airport. NH Madrid Nacional has 206 rooms with a choice of classic or contemporary designs. Each features sleek wooden floors and free Wi-Fi. Some of the rooms come with views of the Atocha Plaza or the Botanical Gardens, while Superior rooms have Nespresso machines, among other extras. The Tablafina restaurant serves up light bites and Mediterranean and Spanish dishes, which you can enjoy along with the lovely city view. Breakfast is also served and includes a wide variety of fresh fare including cooked-to-order eggs. A gym is available on-site. For meetings, there are 6 function rooms for up to 150 people, where catering can be arranged. On Sundays, sleep in and enjoy our free late checkout and breakfast served till noon.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the NH Hotel in Madrid, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was smooth and enjoyable.
The location is fantastic—perfectly situated for exploring Madrid’s vibrant attractions, with easy access to public transportation and within walking distance of many key landmarks.
The room was modern, spacious, and impeccably clean, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the soundproofing ensured a peaceful night’s sleep.
The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options to suit every taste. The dining area was bright and inviting, making it the perfect way to start the day.

Incredible experience for an unplanned dinner thanks to our bartender/server, Antonio! My wife and I were in Madrid to celebrate a wedding anniversary and birthday. We walked by the Nacional and saw an elegant looking bar restaurant area. We thought to simply sit down for a drink and cocktail and find somewhere else for dinner and wine tasting. Instead, our server, Antonio, was incredible. From the moment we discussed wines, he turned it into a Spanish wine tasting experience where we tried so many different amazing wines to add to our expanding knowledge of Spanish ones. Moreover, he convinced us to stay and try the different food for dinner, and we are so glad we did as it was a marvelous tasting experience. He also was very sensitive, caring, and knowledgable about their menu as my wife has a gluten sensitivity, and he was able to help us order a great meal with this in mind including paella, steak, and dessert. Other couples also were complimenting the food (like the pork and sea bass) and Antonio through the night.
We highly recommend this bar and hotel restaurant, and we highly encourage you to ask for Antonio! Muchas gracias!
