Stayed for 2 nights and paid a bit extra to upgrade to a balcony room, which was worth it. The room was on the smaller side but had a very comfortable bed, a decent sized bathroom with a great shower, and overall was very clean but did have a musty smell on arrival and several of the charging ports did not work. The soundproofing on the balcony windows was excellent as we could barely hear any noise from the outside, however, there was strangely a lot of loud banging noises from inside the building all night, not sure if it was the elevator or something else but it definitely disturbed our sleep.
Breakfast was great with a variety of healthy options, including fresh squeezed juices and fruits, yogurt with lots of toppings and the usual eggs, meats and cheeses, etc.
We found all of the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The furniture in the hallways really needs to be upgraded as it seems they just kept the old furniture that was there from the 1980s or something.
Location is great for this part of Madrid, directly in the middle of a main shopping district in a pedestrian only area with a quick stroll to either the Gran Via or Puerta del Sol, lots of cafes and restaurants all around.

Nice choice for a hotel that’s located at the city center of Madrid. Unique interiors and affordable rooms featuring a balcony. Only problem is that it’s hard for taxis or cars in general to come into the street of the hotel so if you’re carrying a ton of baggage then it’s going to be a headache. The pictures you see in Agoda/Booking.com/Klook might also be a little misleading because if you’re expecting a big and spacious room then that’s not the case. Still, nice hotel at the center of Madrid and I don’t regret my decision to stay here.

My room was pristine and so clean and I love that. Great location so close to the plaza and all the shops. Be mindful that this is in town so I did hear noise day and night. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating so I give this hotel my highest recommendation.

I recently stayed here and it was amazing. It’s in the perfect location walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in Sol. We had a room for 4 ppl. It had 2 bunk beds and a queen bed. It was the perfect size and was very clean. We stayed for 2 days and left to Barcelona. When we came back we wanted to rebook and stay here but they were booked out. Understandable because we were looking to book that day. Laura was absolutely kind and terrific she helped us find another petit palace about 5 minutes away in Gran Via. As an American traveling internationally for the first time this was one of the highlights of our trip.

Unfair Charges and Rigid Policy — Poor Guest Treatment
I accidentally canceled my reservation three weeks before the arrival date and rebooked the same room at the same rate just minutes later. I also immediately contacted the hotel by email to explain the mistake and asked them to correct it. Despite all this, they refused to refund or credit the initial booking, hiding behind a strict “non-refundable” policy.
This wasn’t a last-minute cancellation or a no-show — it was an obvious error, addressed right away, and I still ended up staying at the property. The refusal to show even the slightest understanding or flexibility was extremely disappointing. It felt like they saw an opportunity to charge double and took it, regardless of fairness or customer service.
Policies exist for a reason, but blindly enforcing them without any regard for context or decency reflects poorly on the hotel. I will not be returning and strongly recommend others think twice before booking here.

Very pleasant rooms, wonderful location, although a bit noisy if you are on the street side - but only during shopping hours. Staff consistently thoughtful and helpful. Delicious breakfast.

Amazing experience. The room is very comfortable and has enough space. My rooms had a balcony and we can see the Del Sol Square.

Let me save you some money and time. Do not book here. Our room smelt like mold and mildew, there was absolutely no sound proofing walls were paper thin. The location was in the city center but not necessarily in an area you would want to be in. The breakfast was awful, honestly inedible. The room was small, and the bed was not comfortable.

While the location might be great, the property is in disrepair- from the walls, to the furniture, to the floors, the hotel is beat up, stained, and uncared for. Neither wifi nor data worked well in our room. It was an unpleasant place to be. Most of the staff members were polite and helpful. The beds were fine and sheets were clean, but that is all that can be said.

The hotel is very well located. Just steps from Puerta del Sol, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor and good restaurants but the conditions of the hotel are very poor. The hotel is very tired...you can notice that there have been years without a proper maintenance . Rooms, bathrooms, floors, elevator, AC, balconies windows and corridors need an urgent maintenance. The hotel is over-priced vs. the standards of the property. We spend six nights recently and paid US$200 or more p/night for a double room during Oct, 2024.The elevator was out of service two days during our stay. One day in the morning and the second day day all-day-long.
The staff is great, friendly, always willing to help. The reception staff were ver nice and please you on any request. Special mention and thanks to Luz, the room-attendant in the 3rd floor. She is very professional and friendly.
We were told by some staff that there are plans to restore the hotel since Covid -19 started but as of today the staff don't know when it will happen.
It's a pity that the management is running the hotel in such conditions now a day, when you need to be competitive due to the standards out there in the market.
