Disappointing Experience at One Shot Lucana Madrid

Our stay at One Shot Lucana in Madrid was far from the four-star experience we expected. From the start, we encountered issues that made our stay uncomfortable.

On the second day, we had to change rooms because the window in our original room wouldn’t close properly. This was inconvenient and disrupted our plans. Given that basic maintenance should be a priority in a hotel of this category, we found this unacceptable.

To make matters worse, the hotel refused to grant us a late checkout, even though it seemed clear that they had available rooms. The manager (i don’t remember clearly her name but her surname Was suarez) she was completely unhelpful and inflexible, immediately shutting down our request without even checking for possible alternatives. Her attitude felt dismissive and unaccommodating.

This was especially frustrating because I was running a fever, and given the cold, rainy weather outside and our late flight, staying a couple more hours in the hotel would have made a huge difference. A little empathy and flexibility would have gone a long way, but unfortunately, we received none.

Overall, the hotel did not live up to its four-star rating. While the location might be good, the service and lack of customer care overshadowed any positives. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Truly the most chaotic experience from start to finish.

First, it was impossible to book on the site and finally able to get a booking direct. They charged me twice and then eventually refunded the other. Throughout the time, we'd ask for things like an iron multiple times from the front desk and never received it. Housekeeping and the front desk are impatient and rude. There seemed to always be guest issues or chaos at every turn.

BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM...

After two nights, we noticed that the ceiling of our room was leaking (attached photo).

They ended up changing our room to a nicer one ("the penthouse").

Then, a couple nights later THE ENTIRE CEILING caved in to the floor below.

How do I know?

At 5:30AM someone came and banged on our door frantically and screaming about "Is your shower running?".

When I said, "no," they left with 0 explanation.

An hour later, more banging on the door.

And they say "FIREFIGHTERS!".

I let them in the room to analyze and there was nothing and so they abruptly left.

We look outside the window and could then see in another room where the ceiling had caved in.

The whole hotel was running around and squeeging as we left.

When we checked out, there was ZERO acknowledgment of the absolute chaos state in the hotel.

Then, as I had extended my room for a night, they charged me the FULL PRICE of the penthouse.

Do not stay here.

But honestly, I'm not even sure if there's a hotel anymore.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. This was our first stop in Madrid and besides the location this was extremely disappointing experience. Upon arrival the room was dirty and we wanted to change to another room, which ended up being even dirtier. So we switched back to the original. Room was overall dirty and seemed unkept, shower was making extremely loud noise and I couldn’t believe we paid 200 euros a night for that mess. Then on our last night I discovered that the mattress on which I was sleeping had god knows what type of reddish stains all over it. I felt totally disgusted and wished I saw that earlier so we would just leave this place right away.
