When we first arrived, one of our tour members noticed that the elevator was misaligned. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law experienced just how unsafe it was when the door closed on her while she was still outside, and the elevator began moving.

Our first inclusive meal was a chicken quarter and fries, and the last meal was chunks of chicken thighs and fries for anyone who didn’t want the fish. Each table seated 10 or more people and started with just one bottle of wine. Getting more always took a long time, and the service felt very mechanical — staff simply delivered the food and drinks and never lingered.

The room itself needed serious attention. The toilet emitted a high-pitched noise all night, forcing my wife to continually get up and flush it so she could sleep. The hairdryer failed twice, each time producing a burning smell and smoke. The shower drain clogged and flooded the bathroom floor, which clearly wasn’t a new problem judging by the damage to the flooring at the entryway. On top of that, the bathroom door wouldn’t even close.

Overall, between the safety concerns, limited dining experience, and poor room maintenance, the stay was far below expectations

Update 26 sept: emails sent to mgt in Barcelona have not been replied to. The complaint made below by nephew Kristian below in Spanish on behalf of his grandmother has been responded to with fabrications. So no trust. Reception refused to call police when asked and dealt with no compassion and due care with my mother or sister who’d chased the thieves.

On 12 Sept my sister and 83 yr old mother stayed here and were victims of targeted attack by a gang of 5 men in the lobby who stole my mother’s bag after creating a scene in order to do so. My mother is still traumatised and it’s impacted her health. The response by staff was complete indifference - they would not assist at all and would not even call police or even offer an old woman a glass of water. Despicable behaviour. It’s clear criminals know to target guests on their site and the hotel has no concerns. Nearly 2 weeks after no one has apologised despite details on booking.com for 14 Nov pleading for management response given this now with the police. (as hotel staff gave no response or support). Avoid unless want to risk robbery and harm and pay for the privilege of being a victim of crime and with no help on their premises

Miserable, the wall was so thin that I could join the conversations of my neighbor should I have wished to do so. Would not recommend to anyone. Very uncomfortable. View was out into a emergency fire escape stairs that basically offered no natural light. Quite awful, would never return.
