We were staying in one of the most prestigious and expensive hotels last year. I wasn’t very happy about the price as compared to what we have gotten ! We were walking in the area and saw Urban Hotel. I liked the look of the hotel and the attendant invited us in. The hotel was very elegant , luxurious and glamorous.
Therefore, we stayed in it this year and guys I was very impressed about everything.
It’s worth all the money ( although it’s half the price of the hotel we stayed in last year). The room is very spacious with a big bathroom. The bed is very comfortable 😊
The staff are very friendly and welcoming with the guests. The breakfast is varied and very good.
We decided Urban Hotel will be our choice every time we come to Madrid.
We were asked to pay an additional parking charge, which we were fine with. However, the issue was that we were never informed about this charge at the time of booking or during our stay. When we suggested that the hotel should be more transparent in the future and inform guests of any additional fees upfront, Jose not only refused to acknowledge this but also belittled us by sarcastically stating, "I never assume if anything is free."
His tone was unprofessional, condescending, and unnecessarily rude, turning what could have been a simple conversation into a deeply unpleasant encounter. Instead of resolving the issue or at least listening empathetically, he made us feel unwelcome.
This experience ruined not only my impression of the hotel but also my overall experience of Madrid. Hotel Urban should seriously evaluate how their staff, especially someone in a managerial position, interacts with guests. Hospitality requires respect and understanding, and unfortunately, Jose demonstrated neither. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values courteous service.
Also, breakfast servers were efficient and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a multitude of options for a healthy start to the day.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. A nice touch was the stocked mini bar and red rose that we received upon our arrival.
Location is wonderful and within walking distance to all of the major sites. The Hotel Urban is fantastic. Thanks for making our stay in Madrid so memorable!!!
Location is perfect too. But be warned, don't get a room near elevator --its quite noisy early in the morning and late at night.
Bar is cool and lobby is even cooler.
Can't wait to return.
