The Principal Madrid, Small Luxury Hotels

Absolutely spectacular view and amazing drinks.
Unfortunately we tried to order a dessert but it wasn’t available (we went in between meals, no big deal), but the staff are lovely and the cocktails are 100% worth going to the Principal for!
The view is BREATHTAKING!!!

Absolutely fabulous hotel, with wonderful friendly staff. Location is perfect, extremely safe, with an easy brief walk to train station. Wouldn't stay anywhere else, when returning to Madrid. Our room was room 601 and it was absolutely beautiful. The lounge on the 6th floor was incredible and the staff were so very good to us, the 4 hours we were in the lounge on a rainy afternoon/evening. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also excellent. Well done!! 😃

We cannot stress how wonderful this hotel is. The staff were absolutely charming, the rooms were gorgeous and the location is perfect. We stayed 2 nights and will absolutely stay here again on future trips through Madrid. Above all, the staff absolutely make this the place to stay in Madrid.

A fantastic hotel in the best location. 10 - 15 minute walk to Plaza Mejor, shopping at the front door and all along Calle Via, as well as the tiny side streets. A great breakfast and the hotel deserved its 4-Stars. Our second time staying and coming, our third. Repeat business; what could be a better recommendation than that?

Oh, yea. They have a beautiful outdoor terrace for drinks and tapas...

What a lovely historic property, situated perfectly in Madrid to see all you want to see! The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. My room included breakfast which I enjoyed each day out on the terrace. Highly recommend & would stay here again.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this Madrid hotel with our extended family, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The communal areas were spacious and welcoming, perfect for our large group. The rooms were comfortable and clean, though I would mention that the showers were a bit on the small side – a minor inconvenience that didn't significantly impact our stay.

One evening, there was a small incident at the bar, but the staff handled it with utmost professionalism and efficiency. Their quick response and tactful resolution were truly commendable, turning what could have been a moment of concern into a testament to their excellent service.

Despite these minor hiccups, our time at the hotel was truly amazing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff's dedication to ensuring a pleasant stay made a lasting impression. We would gladly return and recommend this hotel to others looking for a comfortable and family-friendly stay in Madrid.

For an elegant, luxurious stay in Madrid, The Principal Madrid Hotel is the place to go. With a 7th floor rooftop terrace, and a penthouse restaurant that serves up signature cocktails and contemporary avant-garde culinary masterpieces, the hotel plays up the building’s history while modernizing the space to accommodate travels seeking the ultimate indulgence.

The hotel is conveniently located near many of the city’s best attractions, and the view from the rooftop terrace may be one of the best I’ve seen overlooking Madrid. When I arrived, I was delightfully greeted and every staff member was courteous, friendly, and helpful. They were willing to help me find my way around town, and offered local suggestions. Though with such great service, views, and a great restaurant, I had no reason to go anywhere else.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Executive Room for one night, which was stunning. The monochromatic color scheme kept the room feeling modern and clean, while the contemporary art fascinated me. The room had all the charm and character of a classic boutique hotel, but with the all the amenities today’s modern traveler seeks.

The king-size bed was comfortable and very large for me, as I was traveling alone. The room was the perfect size, big enough to not feel cramped, but small enough to deliver an intimate, peaceful atmosphere. After spending the day in Madrid, the jets in the walk-in shower were a welcome relief. The hotel offers complimentary Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, which felt like I had my own personal spa right there in the room with me.

I enjoyed relaxing with a cup of tea and using the infusions set, and the complimentary wi-fi allowed me to stay connected and check my emails. The Principal Madrid is a magnificent hotel in a landmark building with the perfect location. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Location location location. Drinks are standard. No food on the terrace. Wonderful view, but you pay for it. I would return on a romantic date.
