Built: 1842
Located in nice, on the legendary promenade des Anglais, 5 minutes from the old town, 10 minutes from Congress Palace and 5 km from the international airport.
Consists of a 6-storey building.
The hotel has 120 rooms.
Beach: own pebble beach 70 m from the hotel, first line to the beach across the road.

We recently stayed here hoping for a relaxing time by the beach with my fiancé and
my mom. While the location and breakfast were truly beautiful and the beachfront view is undeniably the highlight, our experience left a lot to be desired. Especially when it came to basic comfort and safety.
Unfortunately, the lock on our room door didn’t work properly, which made us uneasy. We had to change rooms just so my mom could feel safe (meaning we didn’t get new rooms. My mom switch rooms with my fiancé and I). Not exactly the peace of mind you expect on vacation. The new room wasn’t much better: it lacked soundproofing, the air conditioning was very weak, and there were visible stains around the bathroom sink. Even trying to watch TV was a challenge: the nextflix didn’t work, and it said something about it not connecting to a network. There were major cracks on the ground. The balcony was dirty, with spiders, and not cleaned for the duration of our time staying there. Too many bugs to open the window.
This place has potential. The beach is right there, and the breakfast was excellent. But safety, and cleanliness, especially when you’re paying for more than just the view.
I truly hope management sees this feedback as a chance to raise the standard and deliver the kind of experience the location deserves.

Stayed here for a weekend with a group of friends.
Really friendly staff, great location opposite the beach and a short walk to the town/markets.
Rooms are fine for the weekend. We had a double and a triple. Air con in the double wasn't great. Much better in the triple. Decor is a little dated and nothing worth not returning/recommended.
The breakfast is phenomenal! Loved the member of staff said if there was anything we wanted that wasn't there to ask... everything was there and delicious

We stayed at this hotel for a week. Clean rooms, fresh towels each day and fresh bedding. Staff very informative and friendly. Upon arrival the reception staff took time to show us a map of the area and places of interest to visit. Pool table and free tea and coffee between certain times of the day in the reception area so if your leaving your room at 12 noon and your flight isn't till later you have access to the drinks, shower area and they will store your suitcases. The air conditioning is lovely in the rooms and isn't noisy unless you have it on max speed which you don't need too as it's adequate on low level. The only issue is the windows do open but don't stay open as the tend to close too they don't have a catch and it's rather noisy with it open but didn't need it open. The hotel is situated opposite the beach just a road dividing it. You will need to hire sun beds as the beach isn't sand but stones and very painful on bare feet even when you get into the sea the bottom is stones and painful. The sun beds are 30 euros each 😮 but you get a towel, umbrella and waiter service for the day, bit expensive but good to try once. Never tried the hotel for breakfast but evening cocktails and desserts were very good quality.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, best part of this hotel. Excellent breakfast buffet, excellent location! However, the state of our rooms was quite disappointing. The rooms have not been kept up well. Some outlets didn’t work, horrible ineffective 1970’s hair dryer attached to the wall, banged up dirty walls, peeling/chipped paint and ripped carpeting. Outdated and not maintained well unfortunately. Also worth noting, we had a double room and also a triple room. Double bathroom was the smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen. Triple bathroom has shower and sink upstairs, with toilet downstairs (just toilet no sink). So if you’re sleeping in the twin bed upstairs, you must go down spiral staircase to use the toilet, and back up to wash hands. Shower height is about 5’8” floor to ceiling. Also, NO iron or steamer in room - you must go to a shared ironing room in the basement (NO THANK YOU!). Housekeeping service was good though. I honestly feel this hotel should be a 3 star hotel.

The service was outstanding for us. We had 1 night in Nice to fly out the next morning and changed hotels last minute due to our first hotel there being gross and terrible. We immediately walked down the street and had last minute service, support, booking, and an incredible top floor ocean view upgrade. The front desk staff and overall service was amazing. We only wish we had had more time at this hotel given how amazing the service was.

I reserved a room on the top floor with sea view. These rooms are modern here and with more space.
The hotel is the first hotel on the promenade des Anglais, so prepare yourself that it is old style but I adore it. The location is the best.
The Xmas decorations are also wonderful

Location, rooms , breakfast everything’s good. We had a junior suite room with stairs and 2 toilets. Staff was friendly, breakfast had lots of options both cold and warm. Lots of good restaurants around and the beach just across the road. We’ll definitely be returning on our next visit to Nice!

The location of the Hotel is prime (in front of the promenade)
The hotel staffs are very kind and polite.
They even went ahead to have our room upgraded and prepare the room for my son’s birthday which was a surprise for us too.

This hotel is located right on the best section of the Promenade des Anglais. Those rooms facing the sea has 180 deg view of the Nice coastline and our corner room has even more expanded view.
The hotel is within an easily walk along the coast to the Nice old town or take a bus ride with 2 to 4 stops. There is also a tram station not far with the L2 tram goes directly to the Nice airport terminal.

We had a good experience in this hotel but there were a few things that could be improved.
Cons:
The queen bed in our room were 2 full beds pulled together. There was a whole in the middle that kept opening.The sheets come undone while you sleep because they don’t use regular mattress sheets that stay in place. The shower is a hazard. Is like climbing a mountain to get into a tub that has a shower. I found it quite uncomfortable and slippery. Poor design and I would not recommend it for older people with mobility problems. Lastly, I have no idea how anybody can dry their hair with the wall hair dryer provided.

The check in was easy, the ladies at the reception were welcoming and friendly as well as the baggage person who was hilarious.
