Reviews
We were a 5 minute walk from the entrance of the acropolis. If you want to be up close to the tourist attractions, this is a good hotel for you.
The rooms are spartan. They lack storage for clothes (no dresser) and the closets are tiny with only 5 hangers. They do offer an iron and ironing board though. A second chair for a room for two would have been nice.
We had a balcony with a view of back of other buildings. We didn’t need a view of the acropolis. Almost every building has a view of the acropolis….. it’s the selling point of Athens.
Breakfast was pretty good. Try their honey.
Note the pool and roof deck are closed. We would not have used the pool if was open. A roof top bar might have been fun.
Note. The hotel is planned around an atrium. There are several elevators. This hotel may not be user friendly for people with limited mobility. There loads of steps. The elevators are tiny.
They have a spa in subterranean floor. We did avail ourselves of the amenity.
The hotel itself is modern and decorative but I will say the guest room walls require more density (sound proof walls)…. I could hear footsteps from the above room.
There was also a mishap which I will not mention because the star of the show, Dimitria, listened, understood and provided a pleasant solution to a potentially serious problem.
Also, if you’re going to pay 300 euros a night (after fees/taxes), then breakfast should automatically be included (my suggestion).
Positives:
- Location:The hotel is extremely well-located, especially if you're planning to visit the Acropolis. You can easily walk to many of Athens' main attractions, which is a huge plus.
- Staff:The staff here is excellent. They were always friendly, helpful, and willing to assist with any requests.
Negatives:
- Rooftop Closure:One of the biggest disappointments was that the rooftop was closed. Although they claim to notify you about this when you make a booking, the information is conveniently buried at the bottom of the email confirmation, making it easy to miss.
- Room Size:The rooms are quite small, which could be uncomfortable if you're staying for more than a few nights.
- Toiletries:The toiletries provided are subpar, and I’d suggest bringing your own if you’re particular about such things.
- Breakfast:The breakfast is just okay—nothing special, but it gets the job done.
- Gym:The "gym" is basically a random room with some run-down equipment. If you’re someone who relies on a good workout space while traveling, you’ll likely be disappointed here.
Value:Considering all of the above, I wouldn’t recommend paying more than 150 euros a night for this hotel. It’s decent for what it is, but there are certainly better options in Athens if you’re looking for something more upscale or with better amenities.
Location is impeccable, you can go anywhere easily, Parthenon, museum and restaurants.
The breakfast is the best we have had during our stay in Greece. Varied options and even with fresh-made orange juice!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We even got upgraded to the suite with amazing Acropolis view. My only suggestion would be having two chairs on balcony so we can enjoy the view.
Well located to do all the touristy things, the acropolis, museum, and surrounding neighborhoods. Easy to get to the port to go to the islands and back to the airport.
Service is great - bags were brought to our room for us and we even were able to check in early to take advantage of the spa.
With that said, there’s been big changes in the last year that would not make me stay here again. Firstly, the spa used to have an indoor pool for a cold plunge type thing in addition to the steam room and sauna but that has been closed off. Additionally, because the building was ruled to be too tall and blocking the acropolis view, the rooftop pool has been closed. This is not advertised that it’s now closed nor is there any postings online so for repeat guests this is a complete surprise. Oh and the price didn’t change to reflect the change in amenities.
