Hotel Amphora

A quaint hotel in Chania's old town. We were particularly impressed with the three different outdoor areas (ground floor patio and then two upstairs terraces) for guests only. During our stay we frequented these spots a lot and had them totally to ourselves. We felt like we had our own little slice of heaven.

Excellent service from friendly staff (and the lovely cat Marianne!) who ensured we made the most of our stay and gave plenty of recommendations for places to go and see.

The three rooms we booked were well-kitted out with fridges full of complementary drinks, a coffee station and TV. Ours had an adorable balcony too.

Worth noting that some members of our party felt the pillows in the rooms could have been better - with one quite thick and hard pillow and a second slim pillow. Other than this however we had no complaints. I myself, an insomniac, slept soundly the three nights we stayed.

Can highly recommend to couples and families or even solo travellers looking for a quaint and quiet getaway in Chania.

This is a lovely authentic Cretan hotel with a fabulous roof top terrace and great views. The breakfast buffet was great too. The only issues for me were the very hard bed and the 42 steps up to our room, which when you forget your phone is a challenge!

The rooms were lovely and nicely sized. Modern with traditional touches.

The room was a bit noisy on one night as we were by the spiral stairs up to the roof and the wood floor carried noise. Also the windows trap much of the noise from streets outside but some noise did carry through into room - didn’t affect us too much too.

Couple extra water + coffee would have been appreciated. Only 1 small water bottle and coffee pod each day.

But overall nice stay- thank you

I absolutely ADORED this hotel in Chania!!! It was such a gorgeous space and in a really good location, in amongst the old town but still convenient when we had a car as we just parked in the street over by the water (like a 5 minute walk). The staff were so lovely and attentive too!! Special mention to the very friendly cat within the terrace area every day

Adored this beautiful hotel - so close to the port & in the midst of old town, but also easy to park our car about 200m away.

The staff were wonderful, the service was great and our rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed.

The courtyard is just stunning, it’s such a gorgeous hotel (and the cat is so sweet!)

Hotel located in the Venetian part of Chania, close to many taverns, shops and beaches. Staff were wonderful and helpful when required. The room we had was spacious and nicely restored. Common area balcony overlooked the harbor and was a great place to relax during the evenings. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Absolutely the best service and help! Very nice staff who goes out of their way to help you out with directions, reservations, local questions, etc. Price was very friendly as well. Right off the harbor and into the mix in about 2 minutes.

We've stayed at quite a few hotels over the years, but this one is my favorite, by far. The owners helped us with our luggage up the stairs and provided us with two glasses and a bottle of wine upon arrival. The Family Room was large, more than enough room for the four of us. It has the classic Greek charm we were looking for in a hotel when booking. The location is perfect, with a beautiful rooftop view of Old Town Chania. The breakfast buffet downstairs was amazing, and changed every day during our 4-day stay. If we ever revisit Chania, we will definitely be staying here again. 5/5, 10/10, 100/100!

Absolutely stunning views. The room was spotless and the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The AC perfect after a Long Beach day. We had the best time in this Hotel. Highly recommended!
