Atlantica Caldera Palace

All read before booking. This resort will be reported.
1. It’s not 5 star at best 3 star.
2. Gym is 25 years old and so is the decor of the hotel.
3. 12.500 gets you a view on electric pylons and supermarket for 10 days
4. No indoor pool unless you pay to use the crap spa. Which is poor. My David Lloyd has far better spa and pools.
5. Greek restaurant is not Greek food. It’s like calling fish fingers premium cod as an example.
6. Restaurants if you can book one which you have paid for on all inclusive the food is terrible not authentic.
The hotels a few doors down are far better after visiting. Without doubt no way is the 5 star and 3.5 is being very generous.

This is the worst 5 star hotel I have been to in all my years of travelling. This hotel deserves a maximum of 3 stars. The room is the only positive thing about the hotel as it was reasonably fresh. However, the beds were hard. The food is a disaster. It is the same food in the main buffet every day. The only thing that is varied are the sauces for the meat itself. Tired of the food after just a few days as there is no variety in the food. I also got food poisoning after a few days and I'm still not recovered after I got home from the trip. Avoid eating at this hotel. Also, unpleasant staff and unpleasant treatment. They are only nice to Greeks. Felt uncomfortable every time I ate in the dining room as the waiters gave us ugly looks. There is also salt water in the pools that are meant for children to be in, which is completely insane. There is no information that there are many saltwater pools and only a few "regular" pools. The children's pool is also at the far end of the hotel, which makes it very difficult for children to walk such a long distance with all the stairs in the strong heat. I asked for a late check out the day I arrived at the hotel. The staff promised me that I would get a room with a partial sea view, but I got a room with a terrace facing the courtyard instead, where people could see into the room. I also found stains on the floor of the new room I was given a late check out in which disappoints me as I had to pay 140 euros for only a few hours in this room. When our bags were to be moved to the new room by the staff, a man came and took some of our bags but not all and he just disappeared with the bags without asking if we were done giving our luggage. I complained about this to the reception staff and received very poor treatment. The staff instead laughed at me and spoke in Greek and the woman who was supposed to help me check in to the new room instead took calls from other rooms in the hotel when she was helping me. The hotel is also in the middle of nowhere and if you want to go to town you will have to pay 45 euros just to get there. There are also no taxi stations near the hotel, which makes it very difficult to go anywhere. We had to sit in the hotel the majority of the time as the hotel was so out of the center. Avoid going here!! Do not spend your money on this hotel!!
