Wonderful Stay at NEMA

We had an amazing experience staying at NEMA! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with incredibly friendly and attentive service. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel itself is spotless—everything was impeccably clean, which really added to the relaxing atmosphere.

The location is perfect, directly at the beach, offering stunning views and easy access to the shore. Plus, there are many great restaurants and supermarkets just a short walk away. The overall vibe at NEMA is warm and positive, making it the perfect place to stay. We highly recommend it!

The hotel is in a great location, just 30 minutes from the airport, with plenty of cozy and delicious dining options nearby, as well as a grocery store and taxi service.

The staff and service are excellent—always attentive to our requests and consistently friendly. The hotel’s design is minimalistic, creating a relaxing atmosphere, although I found the rooms to be quite dark, with limited lighting options.

Breakfast is fantastic, offering a wide variety of dishes that change slightly each day. A hidden gem is the a la carte restaurant, Rizes. The menu is amazing, showcasing unique Greek flavors. The cocktails are delicious, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality. I highly recommend trying it!

The beach is decent but could benefit from better maintenance. After a storm, a significant amount of seaweed washed ashore, emitting an unpleasant smell, which made it uncomfortable to enter the sea.

Additionally, there are areas for improvement in cleanliness. I was disappointed to find makeup stains in the sink, oily spots in the bathroom from previous guests, and dust on the fridge and safe. Despite tipping the cleaning staff, the situation didn’t improve over our week-long stay. After raising the issue with reception, the room was cleaned again, but not thoroughly—the stains in the sink remained, and marks from the cleaning cloth became visible. Moreover, the shower was leaking, and the water never dried up.

Overall our stay was pleasurable, with the staff being very friendly and the service being beyond excellent, especially Paris (bartender/cocktail specialist) as he was above and beyond with his knowledge, respect and brilliant service towards us as a couple. He also suggested numerous site seeing location and unforgettable views which we are very grateful for. The only thing we had a problem was our shower door had fragment of glass broke off which never got sorted which resulted in a leak in the bathroom. Despite this issue we had a wonderful time staying here and loved the aesthetic of the hotel. We would recommend this place if you are hiring a car to travel as this opens up wonderful opportunities for places to venture too.

First and Foremost the service here.. EXCELLENT! Service with a smile, the staff love to have a laugh and a joke and genuinely prefer to have a chat - food especially the breakfast and lunch excellent. The room is spotless, bed is huge and very comfy, the air conditioning is bliss especially when it’s a touch under 40° here like it’s been this week. And finally the hotel design and pool are beautiful. I genuinely don’t have a single thing to say that’s bad about this hotel. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

NEMA is a hotel I would recommend to anyone who is travelling to Crete. The location is picturesque and safe, also being along the sea front with the most beautiful sunset views. The service was absolutely amazing and the staff made our stay so lovely. Sumi, in particular, delivered a high standard of service and made our stay very memorable. The standard of the rooms was above and beyond and you can see so much detail was put into each room. We enjoyed our stay so much so that we extended our trip by another 3 days to which the staff made so easy for us to do. On our last night, we stayed in the jacuzzi room which had a lot of style and was overall incredible. I also wanted to note that the breakfast buffet offered a variety of food and it was all fresh and tasty. Lastly, the pool was incredible with comfy sun loungers and adjustable parasols. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

A stunningly beautiful modern hotel situated in a wonderful location. The only thing that matches the quality of the venue is the staff. Some of the most attentive, polite and cheerful hospitality workers I have ever met and I have travelled all over the world 🌍

everything was incredible. starting from the wonderful room we had until the last person from the hotel staff. everyone was extremely friendly. excellent food and delicious cocktails. we will definitely come back.

We had an amazing experience here. The room was huge with 2 porches. The staff are wonderful and super helpful. The pool is incredible and the food is amazing both breakfast and dinner. The hotel is located in a quiet town 20 minutes from the Heraklion airport. The whole experience was super relaxing and positive. The hotel is very clean we will definitely be back.

I stayed here for a week with my partner, it was the first holiday without the kids in many years so we wanted something nice.

The hotel was lovely, it was peaceful (what you would expect from adults only), there was a nice feeling of smoothness to our stay.

But for me and my partner the stand out part of our holiday was by far the staff! Very helpful and friendly, paid a lot of detail to everything. Forgive me if I misspell his name, but for us Paris was/is cut from a different cloth! We did a lot on our holiday through his advice, guided us to some incredibly beautiful parts of Crete and told us the best places to eat while in those areas which were amazing.

All the staff were very friendly but at the bliss bar was where the best conversations were had.

Like others have mentioned the all inclusive package is misleading as many items were not included in this, we didn’t find this much of a problem though as two of our favourites were on the list(lucky).

I would stay again if only I could get another babysitter :)

Anyone who stays make sure you introduce yourself to Paris, you will get a wealth of knowledge of the island and won’t be disappointed.
