MARI KRISTIN Beach Hotel - Adults Only in Hersonissos

Just returned today from a very relaxing break at the Marie Kristin Beach Hotel. It was perfect for the three of us — myself, my husband, and our 15-year-old daughter. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxed and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or friendly. in fact, every Greek person we made was incredibly friendly. We arrived late at night (around midnight) and, even though we’d missed dinner, they kindly prepared a fresh salad plate for us — such a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the whole stay. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just steps from the beach. The pool is small but ideal for chilling out. No need to set an alarm to reserve sunbeds! Everyone just came and went as they pleased. There are several beaches within walking distance. You do need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas at those, but the prices were very reasonable. We stayed on a half-board basis. The food at the hotel was fine - buffet style. The hot partner with a restaurant just down the road which was absolutely amazing — definitely worth trying. And you also get a restaurant discount for staying at the hotel The only small downside is that the rooms are quite compact. It was manageable for three of us, but a bit tight — I’d recommend no more than two people per room for maximum comfort. For all the things in your room, though. We were out and about every day either at the beach on a sailing trip, visiting Heraklion town or shopping. Overall, we had a lovely stay and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a chilled, friendly, beachside holiday.

Small hotel with a very relaxed environment, friendly staff and in a very good location close to everything, we managed to walk everywhere, the sea the harbour the aquarium nothing was further than a 25 minute walk. we really enjoyed our stay thanks again!

Really liked this hotel. The facilities were OK but the shower was very small and the door didn't close fully but enough not to complain about it as was only there 3 nights. What made this hotel was the staff were very good the night reception/bar tender Mike was great. I decided to go bed and breakfast, which had a good selection, as wanted to experience the restaurants in the area. Everything was stones throw. Alot of Spars convenience shops and restaurants were almost directly out of the hotel less than a couple minutes walk. Also gave a discount for staying at Mari Kristin. Beach was also 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Only down side was the poolside was small and as such had annoying people putting towels out before even going for breakfast so only swam there once preferring the beach. Nice stay due to location more so than anything else recommend for a short stay.

Really nice hotel situated only a 30 second walk from the beach, offers nice breakfast and dinner with a bar to purchase drinks. The hotel has a nice swimming pool. The location of the hotel is also about a 15 minute walk to the main ***** with bars and restaurants, however there are other bars and restaurants close by. The hotel is very clean. The only two things which could be improved is the wifi which is very slow and drinks being included with dinner (we were half board).

Hotel is in a very good location. You can reach the beach, shops, restaurants, bars, car rental etc in just few minutes walk. The cozy open restaurant terrace and friendly staff makes breakfast and dinner very attractive and the food which is very tasty even tastier. Perfect if you are a couple as no kids are allowed. Includes a cozy small pool area enough to relax for few hours before heading off to your adventures or taking a day off. The room we had was nice with a balcony into the street, was cleaned everyday. The only minuses in the room was that the shower (not sure if all rooms are like this) did not have a cover, so made it difficult to keep water from splashing all over. Also, the tv programs could have been more diverse and modern and more programs in english. Also, hotel does not have private parking, so parking after coming back from a day trip could be difficult to find near the hotel. Overall, great experience and would come back to the hotel :)

I was here for a week and it was really great.
The people who work here where so nice and sweet to us. Every single person was so ready to help us with every question we had. (particularly the man who worked the night shift every day)
It’s a really central hotel directly at the beach and near by the Main Street with a lot of tourist shops and restaurants.
Chersonissos is a nice little place with a lot of tourists, restaurants, cafes and located directly a the beach.
The food buffet for breakfast and dinner is also really nice. Not the biggest but everything was great and tasted great.
All around was this a really great stay at this hotel.

The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good holiday- they couldn’t of been more helpful, a special mention to Petros and Nikolas. The food at breakfast and dinner was lovely, rooms were great (although bathroom quite small). The pool was great, big with a large selection of sun beds. Great location, very close to good restaurants and bars.

We are a couple who stayed here for 9 nights recently and we had a super relaxing holiday. Having read the other reviews here we were aware of others experiences but I must say we had no problems at all. We stayed in room 301 and it was ideal. I think it is one of the best rooms in the hotel for couples. We had a great sea view, pool view and sun on the balcony for huge portions of the day. The room had a large double bed, air-conditioning, flat screen TV, a welcome bottle of wine and sweets, a couple of wine glasses and a small fridge that adequately held a couple bottles of water, a few beers and a bottle of wine. The en-suite was fine – a bit smaller than the norm but you’re only in there for a little while so it’s not a deal breaker at all, the shower did not leak out on to the floor if you closed the shower door properly but it did if the door was not closed properly. Breakfast and Dinner was included in our deal. There was combinations of the following. Breakfast catered for all – fresh fruit, fresh bread and baguettes, cold meat slices, cheese, bowels of cereal, pancakes, french toast, coffee, water, fried and boiled eggs, porridge and so on Dinner also catered for all – some of the things I can remember are lamb, chicken, turkey, gyros, wedges, fish, chips, potatoes, salads and cold dishes, pasta bolognese, soup, ice creams and various deserts. Yes you had to buy water with dinner but I had read about that already here in the other reviews so we were fine with that. It was only €1.50 for a bottle of water. The staff speak a few languages and are very friendly – they will help you any way they can. The pool area is small but again it’s mentioned here in the other reviews so we were aware. If I had to guess there’s seats around the pool for about 25-30 guests. There’s the usual carry on of booking a bed by putting your towel on it as early as you can and then disappearing for hours but sure we’re all guilty of it. If the pool is full then the beach is 1 minute away. Beds at the beach are €5 each and an umbrella to go with them is €4 , so that's €14 for a couple. Finally the hotel have a deal with Petalida, I can’t remember how much but you get a discount when you mention that you are staying in the hotel. Anyway the food is delicious, we went here 3 or 4 times for lunch. I would 100% recommend this hotel Nothing to do with the hotel but please note prices overall in Greece have gone right up than what they were a number of years ago. Some things were just as expensive as Ireland if not dearer. Taxi from hotel to Sarantari Beach was only 3km and cost €15. Chinese for 2 people with 1 glass of wine was €58 Dinner with drinks for 2 in two nearby restaurants came to €92 and €107, it would never cost us that back in Ireland. Pint of beer varied from €3.50 to €5.

We had a very nice room with a partial sea view.
The hotel is close to the beach and all the restaurants, clubs,taverna etc.
Also nearby there's a very lively walkway with shops, minimarkets and places to eat.
Inna at the reception was very helpful with everything we asked and very efficient. The waiter, Giorgios was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay.
Overall a very positive experience.
