Heronissos Hotel - All inclusive in Hersonissos

This is a long review but covers most things. The location really is prime for this one! My partner booked this as a surprise holiday, I read lots of reviews on this hotel before we came and I was really worried about coming here with our 7 year old. However I must say the rooms are not as bad as I thought/read but the hotel itself isn’t great and WiFi very intermittent. I paid the upgrade fee but I queried if we was in the main block or an accompanying block (not advertised on love holidays) and as soon as he said you’re in economy over the road, my instant thought terror! I’d seen the reviews and pictures on trip adviser! I managed to haggle €200 euros to €160 for 10 days for the superior room. I do have a few moans on the room , 1st there is not enough space to store clothes so we had stuff laying around everywhere as for three people we need storage! 2nd our balcony faced a house/building but we didn’t use this other than to hang swimwear out to dry but it would have been nice to have some kind of view and it would have benefited to have a pull out clothes dryer, there were times were huge puddles would fall from the balcony above and soak the clothes hanging over the balcony. 3rd I would have liked a peep hole on the door so you can see who/if anyone is there before you open the door. 4th there are no hooks to hang towels, cardigans or anything so after a shower there are wet towels and/or dressing gowns around. There is one hanging bar in the shower but it’s not enough. Other than that the rooms are clean and beds comfy. Food is ok, Haven’t had a problem. There was obviously the odd night where nothing took your fancy but you’ll just settle and have chips, pasta and/or a salad. Some of the food did taste very salty though. My son enjoyed the donuts at the bar, snacks are 4pm. Pool is a good size, doesn’t open until 10am and closes at 6pm. It can sometimes get a bit rowdy when groups of younger ones enter as they start getting on each other’s shoulders, play fighting and diving etc. Didn’t have an issue getting a space but I agree there are not enough sun beds for the amount of people.. Also it would have been beneficial to have a toilet closer to the pool for multiple reasons. You have to trek half way to reception for a wee and half the time the toilets are soaked where the pool people have used it, there should be a separate toilet outside near the pool which is closer for kids and the inside toilets can remain dry. I’ve gone into the toilet before and there were 2 females washing their feet in the sinks! There’s only 2 toilets and 2 sinks so they took up a lot of space and made a lot of mess. Throughout the day there are a lot of plastic cups on the floor, in the pool etc. one night I counted 19 around 1 table only and on other occasions my son has picked them up and put them in the bin, he has also pulled some out of pool. Maybe a better solution can be found other than plastic cups being blown all over. restaurant staff are ok b
